Longtime customer of this salmon.

Luckily we are having cool weather here. So, the insulated package arrived with still firmly frozen fillets. Though the dry ice was gone. Shipped Monday morning and arrived late afternoon Wednesday. From the box straight into my freezer. Really nice looking fillets. I've ordered several times over the last several years and these are undoubtedly the best I've received. Thick pieces. No flat tail end pieces. Make sure to order during cool weather only.

Unfrozen Salmon

This poor review is due to the salmon is not frozen on the last two deliveries. No dry ice remains and salmon has been soft and or warm. I have never received this salmon in two days. Never. I called customer service and they refunded the money and gave a $15 credit to spend at Sam's which is commendable but I have zero confidence in ordering this product again. It is a shame too, because we really like it. We have ordered this product about 14 times and only the last two have had issues.

BE AWARE OF THE CHANGE

The Norwegian Salmon from Sam's Club is delicious. The price is the same BUT now you receive 10 single serve portions INSTEAD of 16. Nowhere in the description is this stated. Customers like me who have been ordering for a long time are aware that this switch was made WITHOUT NOTIFYING CUSTOMER.

Needs More Dry Ice For Shipping

Excellent Salmon - BUT - the last two times it has arrived at my door partially thawed. (I opened it within 30 minutes of it's arrival on my door) It was still cold - but NOT frozen. I live in Idaho and the Salmon is shipped from back east. I highly recommend the company put TWO dry ice containers in the box with the salmon when shipping long distances. Otherwise, I will have to return it AGAIN!

Received this product WARM TO THE TOUCH

I bought this product 3 times. The first time, it was perfect. Excellent quality. The second time, defrosted but cold at least. Last week, WARM TO THE TOUCH. I have complained to Sam's twice to explain the issues to them but of course, they don't care because it is a 3rd party product (NO LIABILITY YOU SEE) so beyond the meaningless apologies of the CS agents, nothing has been or seemingly WILL BE done. So I have to forgo a product I actually enjoy simply because FEDEX IS THE WORST SHIPPING SERVICE IN ALL OF CREATION and it is not available at my local stores. 72 hours on non-refrigerated vehicles in the worst heat wave in recent history. (I TRACKED IT) The manufacturer actually uses 2 DAY SHIPPING... FOR FISH they claim is "sashimi grade". (Again it took 72 hours, actually MORE THAN) From the bottom to the top, this is a very dangerous comedy of errors and I guess it will take food poisoning and a major lawsuit to get anyone's attention. I am beginning to question my PAID membership to a company with such little disregard for its customers.

Salmon arrives thawed because of cheap packaging

In a very poor attempt to cut costs, they have changed the packaging to ship out the salmon. It now arrives completely thawed and no dry ice to be seen anywhere. I had to throw out my entire order of salmon because it was squishy and almost room temperature. Don't waste your time ordering this.

Pick time of year you order

It is a great product if you could get it still frozen. The last 4 times I purchased this product it came with all dry ice gone and most all if the salmon thawed. The new packaging is the worst. If you live in the southeast beware of ordering in the hot months.

Never Again - No Longer Worth Price

We have ordered this salmon five times. First couple of times it was outstanding. Then quality of the fish seemed to decline and the packaging methods declined to point we worried about safety of eating the fish. Just received another order and my Japanese wife who knows shashimi grade salmon took one look and said we won't ever buy this product again. NO LONGER worth this high price.

Verified Purchase

Double the Portion, two boxes for the same price.

They should give the customer double, 32 pieces for the same price. The 16 are small and thin portions. Furthermore, I would appreciate it if they could make sure the fish eat more 'wild-caught' versus hand feed. Overall, it is too pricey. It should not cost a fortune to eat healthy salmon.

Bring It Back to Store Please!

Why don't we have it in club any more? We loved to purchase it in Gardena warehouse, they were in big pieces and were perfect for making our own sashimi. Please bring it back to the club house as these small individually packed portion is hard to be made as sashimi!!
