This was the best watermelon! I'm never sure about how to buy a watermelon but I stuck to the things I've read -- brown stem, yellow side where it lay in the field and something I just read about -- wider spaced stripes. I made a really good choice.

I've bought 2 watermelons @ Sam's so far & neither one has impressed me. I can pick out sweet ones at other stores, but I'm 0 for 2 at Sam's. Is it me or their source? I don't know, but I'm not going to buy another one here. Sam's not recommended for watermelons.

Watermelons can be delicious or they may not meet the "hype." As they say, you may not be able to tell a book by its cover but you can tell the state of the melon by the THUMP. This is not always true, as my melon had a nice "D" major thump but had a few defects on the inside. Overall, I was able to salvage a few cups of melon so it was not a complete disappointment.

This is the second watermelon I’ve bought this season & both times they were not ripe! I like a whole watermelon to real enjoy. Maybe it’s too early in the season to get them!

It was a total waste of money. It was very over ripe & mushy so so yucky & gross!! I love watermelon I have bought alot from Sams however I definitely be looking else where this year. With the memberships going up, & changing you 35.00 to 50.00 to get free shipping, I doubt I will be a club members after all the changes in Sams favor... you need your customers, might want to be looking out for their interest alot more.

I don’t normally write reviews, but I was so disappointed in this watermelon I had to share my experience when the email arrived asking for a review. I have always been pleased with the fruit I have purchased at Sam’s until I bought this watermelon. I bought the melon on Saturday morning, cut it Saturday afternoon, and feed it to the chickens Saturday afternoon. The texture of the melon was terrible and it had a sour taste. What a huge disappointment, I had planned on serving the melon 🍈 at a family reunion on Sunday. I knew it was getting late in the season for watermelon, but I trusted Sam’s to sell fresh produce or not sell it at all. Because of this purchase, I will not blindly trust Sam’s quality in the future.

I would have given them 5 stars but after 12 times of 6 perfect watermelons per week. Yes you heard me. This one week I bought 5 watermelons and all 5 were bad. They did refund the money. I just want my perfect watermelon again.

I picked what I thought should be a very good watermelon. It had a nice dark yellow spot on the bottom and a brown stem, had a slight give in the skin and also webbing on the skin. All the things that should indicate a sweet ripe watermelon. When we cut it open it was mostly white on the inside and just light pink in the middle. It should have been very dark pink like in the picture.. very disappointed! Threw most of it out!

The first watermelon I bought about a month ago was the best I've ever had. So another got another about 2 weeks ago and it was horrible! Had a big dry crack in the middle of the inside and it hard. No moisture. Tasted horrible too. I tried a 3rd one. Horrible again. How do you take a watermelon back that you've already cut?Asked Sam's that and they said take a picture of it. They were nice enough to refund 1 of the melons. So I'm only out $7.00. Watch your melons!

The watermelon was tasteless and overly soft. Not with the price charged. When you have a price of 8.99 on a watermelon you hesitate. 1st thought “9 bucks?” 2nd thought “Man, this better be worth it.” It wasn’t. The inside of the watermelon seemed that it already had turned and started it’s spoiling stage.
