Green, green, green potatoes

GREEN! I had these delivered to use as baked potatoes. They had obviously been sitting out in the sun somewhere along the line and all were bright green, which is the warning color for solanine. I had to peel and cut off the green in order to use which definitely made them unusable for baked jacket potatoes, but better that than sick guests for dinner... I would only buy in the store where I could check them before buying.

Bad Bargain!

I have had to throw away at least a third of every potato I have cut into. Many have large spoiled areas that could easily have been seen and culled out by sorters before bagging. Many have large cuts in the skin that were obviously caused by poor harvesting techniques. These problems are the cause of the wastage when using the potatoes. In the future I would never buy bagged potatoes at Sam's club. I would consider buying a quantity of individual potatoes, picked by me, if the price was right.

Verified Purchase

Potato in a Bag

The potato plant, scientifically known as Solanum tuberosum, is an herbaceous annual in the nightshade family that produces starchy, underground tubers (potatoes) as a means of reproduction and nutrient storage. Native to the Americas, potatoes are grown from "seed potatoes" (tubers with buds or "eyes") and require full sun, loose, well-drained soil, and consistent moisture to develop tubers on their underground stems (stolons). The plant's growth cycle includes sprout development, vegetative growth, tuber initiation, tuber bulking, and maturation, after which the foliage dies back, and the tubers are harvested.

Bad potatoes

I purchased 60 pounds of these potatoes 4 days ago for a baked potato dinner at my church today, Saturday. I’m now thinking I’m going to be embarrassed when I serve. Almost every potato has a fairly large bad spot. It’s to late to go purchase more so I’m just hoping for the best. Next year I’ll find somewhere else to get my potatoes.

Your potatoes, I am very surprised, are the worst ones I have bought. I will not buy them again. Your other products have been good, but I am not seeing much of a savings. I would like you to go over my purchases of the last 6 months and tell me my savings.

Great price not a great product

These potatoes were old when I got them. Lots of eyes, some had rotting spots. Great price but not a very good value if you end up throwing away product. Some potatoes were very soft when I got the bag. Old product, must have been sitting in a freezer somewhere.

They used to have good quality about 4 months ago lately.Every time I ordered them from Sam's Club, they are damaged. They have black mole . And they have poor quality.I'm not sure what change in their company with this brand but they are bad with their production now.Their quality is bad.

White potatoes

On my fourth online delivery order of these bagged potatoes. Unlike some other reviewers I have had no issues with the quality of the product and will continue to order it. I have always gone through prepackaged veggie or fruit bags prior to storage to ensure there are no "starting to go" pieces in the bag that will hasten spoilage. There is no guarantee but it helps.

The Potato stuffer!!! YUMMY!!

These potatoes are huge and amazingly good. I've made fully loaded potatoes with chicken and even Philly cheese steak potatoes. You can do so many things with them!!! Grab a bag and Daisy sour cream, some green onions, tomatoes, and whatever else you like on your potato!!

Great deal if you like rotten potatoes

Too unreliable. They would be a great deal if they didn't spoil and get overly sprouted after a day and a half of owning the bag. I've purchased these regularly but the last several times, I've just been throwing away money. If you're not ready to use 10lbs of potatoes the same day you buy them, don't bother. The deal means nothing when you're throwing away 9 of the 10lbs.
