Jumbo Baked Potatoes

I look for these. Sam's doesn't always have them, but when they do they more than complete any meal. Heck, as large as they are they could be the meal. These are jumbo potatoes that we wash, oil up, put into the oven and bake for about an hour. While they're baking we get the toppings prepared...and when they're done...we enjoy!!!

Great source of vitamin C, potassium, and vitamin

Great for stews, soups, baked and home made mashed potatoes. The bag is pretty big and great for large families and restaurants. It's best to consume within 1 week of purchase to avoid sprouting, greening, softening, or a musty odor. It says to keep is a cool, dark place to last up to 3 to 5 months. I have never tried this. Maybe put in a brown paper bag and put it in a cool pantry or something. Russet potatoes are a great source of vitamin C, potassium, and vitamin B6. They also contain fiber, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, and folate. Russets are low in fat and sodium, and they provide a decent amount of carbohydrates and protein.

Best quality and price in the area in my opinion

I use these to make twice baked potates and then freeze them. Baked potatoes in oven not microwave. Cut in two lengthwise and scoop out potatoe leaving a thick shell. Make mashed potatoes. I mix a little sour cream in. Refill shells woth mashed potatoes. Freeze, vaccume seal. When you want to eat them, punch a hole in the bag and microwave until hot. Tastes like you just made them.

Very large Russets!

The reason I don't usually buy russet potatoes in a bag is because they are too small. I like to get the individual ones at the grocery store because they are larger. These potatoes in the 10 lb. bag at Sam's were very large and cooked up nice and fluffy as baked potatoes.

Fresh new crop.

They are correct size for bakers or any other preparation. They are excellent quality: easy peeling with few black spots and texture is perfectly correct.

Potato in a Bag

The potato plant, scientifically known as Solanum tuberosum, is an herbaceous annual in the nightshade family that produces starchy, underground tubers (potatoes) as a means of reproduction and nutrient storage. Native to the Americas, potatoes are grown from "seed potatoes" (tubers with buds or "eyes") and require full sun, loose, well-drained soil, and consistent moisture to develop tubers on their underground stems (stolons). The plant's growth cycle includes sprout development, vegetative growth, tuber initiation, tuber bulking, and maturation, after which the foliage dies back, and the tubers are harvested.

Spuds

The potatoes are good and usually large. I would have given a 5 star, but the last two bags I purchased (different times) seem to quickly go bad. The price is good and I would probably pay the same or more for just a couple of potatoes at a local grocery store.

Huge, high quality potatoes

These are high quality potatoes, no bruises or sprouts, but they are huge—2-3 servings per potato. It talks about 1 1/2 hours to bake, but they are delicious. The price is excellent.

Worst bag of potatoes I've ever bought from Sam's

These potatoes had a lot of flaws in them and I normally would never review potatoes, but these deserve a review. I had to cut out way too many black pieces from the middle of the potatoes and surrounding areas after slicing. It was extra work that resulted in having to use an extra potato to make up the difference. It a good thing I peeled them instead of using them as baked potatoes because I would have never known all the black matter was there.

Just old potatoes

Not what we expected nor what we typically get from here. Getting late in season and these look like last years produce. Full of dark spots, some rotting, and after a couple of days we found one that had gone completely bad. The smell is terrible.
