I got my generator today, unpacked it and charged the battery a couple of hours, put gas and oil in it, pushed the button and it started right up. Bought this to run my travel trailer, I’m going to love the key fob, no more going outside to turn off and on. Well done Westinghouse!!!

Just received it. Followed the cleat setup instructions and it fired right up. Ran about 5 minutes powering one light bulb. Turned it off, let it cool and checked everything. All OK. Tested it powering a portable electric cooktop. Draw was about 25% on the meter. The Economy mode switch worked great. Cannot wait to take it camping with my travel trailer.

Out of the box, the generator would not start. I rechecked all startup instructions but no start. I removed the side panel and manually set the carburetor choke. The unit started. I shouldn't have to do this on a brand new Westinghouse product. There are 2 YouTube videos that explain the very problem I experienced. They are titled "Westinghouse iGen4500 Inverter Generator (Buyer Beware)", dated August 14, 2020, and "Westinghouse Gen 4500 Inverter Generator Repair", dated August 17, 2020. Westinghouse needs to watch these videos. If there are YouTube videos highlighting this issue, and I experienced it too, there must be many, many more units like it. The videos clearly show an quality control issue. The 5 pin male electrical plug that controls the carburetor choke does not lock into the female receiver at the control unit. There is no positive locking connection made during assembly. The connection came loose. Westinghouse can do better than this, or you can concede that the others will be better. My initial impressions and startup of this unit has left a bad taste in my mouth. But the issue is fixed (by me) and I’m willing to allow the generator time to prove itself. I am hoping for the best for my investment. Another issue. The 4500 rated peak watts has a hard time starting my 13,500 BTU AC compressor on my RV trailer. I would think that a 4500 watt peak rating would easily start this unit. Something to work on. Thanks for listening.

Just received the generator and took it out of the box. Filled the oil and gas and followed directions on operation. Generator starts easy and is very quiet for the size. I especially like the remote start. Will give it a good test run this summer in the RV.

I bought this for a 20' Travel trailer to power my AC 13,500btu and also to run the microwave if needed, upon reading other reviews this fit my needs perfect to run AC and microwave or to charge phones and run a small fan, more than enough watts and power. Its plenty quiet as is and would be more quiet if you put it in a genny box like im going too, of course with adequate ventalation. The price and power this thing makes is the right price than any where else that "marks up" price for "camping RV use" Follow proper break in inside the manual, im running a space heater on high and its a about 25% which is sufficent as im under the 50% power (1850) watts So if you want to power ac microwave and some misc small things, this iGen4500 will do just that

I wanted a backup generator in case of an extended hurricane electrical outage. I chose this one based on the inverter technology. It is much quieter and if needed, one can plug in sensitive electronics directly without worrying they might get fried based on a "dirty" current line as in a standard generator. Think of inverter technology as a "surge suppressor". Also like the ease of use, good value, good name, and better warranty than most others. I like the remote start and electronic gauge readings, especially the time left to run. Started right up the first time I pushed the button. I like it but...hope I never have to use it!

Bought this generator as a back up for my RV in case of power outages. Very pleased with its performance and durability. Easy to maintain and use, love the remote control and the hand rail to tote the generator much easier. Read many reviews and watched videos before purchasing. Westinghouse has a parallel kit available for these model gens so that you can connect two for added power for added amp hours.

The generator worked great for less than an hour, then it would shut down. This occurred several times, and we called customer service. As is typical nowadays, it took several days to get a response. On the plus side, when we finally were directed to a certified repair shop, the service was quick, the problem was diagnosed as a manufacturing defect, and a replacement generator was sent immediately. We have yet to use the replacement, but are hopeful it works well.

Just bought and came with everything needed to get started. Love the power start and remote key start. Like that its blue and came with funnel to add oil. Like it has plugs and USB charging ports. Not as quiet as expected but is quieter than cheaper models. Things I wish it has is a 30 amp with a twist lock versus just a plug in, and wheels in all 4 corners. Do like the pull out handle for moving it around.

This generator is just as quiet as my Hond@ 3000 was but way more features and more power. To be fair it doesn't have the same quality feel as the Hond@, the Hond@ has a steel enclosure and this one is plastic, but at less than 1/2 the price (less than Hond@ 2000 watt) this has all these EXTRAS: (1) Fuel gauge with remaining run time, (2) Wheels! (3) remote start with auto choke. (4) built in battery maintainer. (5). load meter (6) Higher capacity It's a no brainer!
