Beats the Comparable Honda Model/Size/Watts in Quietness, Features and POWER! I really like the Digital read out for all the Run time, fuel level, run time left, etc. Remote Start and Electrical start worked for me every time. The wheels and pull out handle work great. I was worried at first from photos that the telescoping handle and wheels could not handle the weight on grass and mostly flat dirt with a full tank, but it rolls around with ease! Good build Quality. The plastic housing surrounding the generator frame and motor has good sound deadening stuck to it on the inside. Durability is ok enough. It's definitely not a slam around Generator. Remote started worked for me right away and even at it's first start up. Power output is as advertised. If you buy this From Home Depot you can get an additional 3 years extended warranty for additional cost on top of the 3 year warranty Parts and Labor that Westinghouse provides. 6 years total coverage! Remember to follow the Owners manual for first start up and break-in period. Do not over fill the generator with Oil and you will LOVE this generator. I got the gas only Model because the Propane one was out of stock for ages and Gas is more available for me anyways. Put in Fuel stabilizer and you got good gas for at least a year if you keep this in a garage or dry shed. I bought this to be used in California because of the annoying PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) that are happening every fire season in California. I am also using this for camping as well since it's so quiet and portable enough.

This generator is exactly as advertised. It is as quiet as indicated, was easy to set up and start. The battery was fully charged so the remote start worked immediately. The ECO mode works well and adjusts RPMs as designed. First impressions are this is a well-made, solid, compact generator. After setting it up, I operated some power tools/saws to test the generator and the ECO mode which worked well. Overall, I'm impressed and satisfied that this generator is exactly as hoped for.

After extensive research, I chose the gas powered Westinghouse iGen4500 generator to add to our Generac portable propane and Inergy APEX solar generators to ensure multiple power supply options in an emergency situation. The iGen4500 is everything and more than we could have hoped for in a generator -- power, quiet, extensive front panel for optimal use and information, handy pull-out handle for portability. The iGen4500 motor purrs like a kitten under a well padded durable plastic housing. Adding the iGen4500 to our emergency portable power supply gives us the peace of mind we were looking for in a gasoline powered generator.

Just got it, so far no problems. Starts manually at first pull, electric start and remote works fine also. Easy to move around and generator really quite. But... not a big deal, nevertheless I think it worst mentioning. Manual states to pour the entire bottle of oil into the engine, one would assume that is correct amount of oil, well in my case I got quite a mess, most likely some oil remained in the engine from factory. Just a suggestion for new owners... do not assume, check oil level before bottle is empty. Otherwise if that is only problem I will be extremely happy with IGen4500.

I bought this generator based on the abundance of excellent reviews and am so happy I did. This generator is so easy to start up and use even a caveman can do it! Flip a switch, and press a button. I love the remote start as well. The overall appearance is very nice and the unit seems very durable and rugged. It's also very quiet, I'd say much quieter than a standard lawn mower on the lowest idle setting. In testing, it easily ran our refrigerator, freezer, microwave and electric heater, although I did not test them all at once. I am super happy with this iGen4500 generator and feel like we can sustain power outages from storms much better now, and now have a reliable source of power when utilities go down. I will be recommending this generator to family and friends.

I have 8 hours running time on it so far and I love it! The igen4500 is relatively quiet for it's size. I love the fact that it has 3 different ways to start it and especially love the remote start. I look forward to our next camping trip to use it. As like everything else this unit does have some bad reviews but give Westinghouse a chance to make your problems right. The good reviews far out weigh the bad.

So far so good. I've only had this unit a short period time. I ran the Westinghouse iGen4500 about 20 minutes until warmed up and then changed the oil and was completely satisfied with the lack of any metal shavings whatsoever. I'm in the process of breaking the unit in prior to taking it on some camping excursions. I'm also very impressed with how quiet the unit is, and I'm sure all the other people in the RV parks will be equally happy. Vary easy to move around.

Just purchased and am impressed by how quiet it is and fuel capacity is great for overnight runs. So far I’m very impressed by the remote and electric start. Only down fall which is minute is the oil fill cap is hard to get my big hand in to restart to put back on.

Had the item 4500 for a week now. No damage in transit. Followed quick start guide after reading manual, added engine oil, gasoline with stabilizer, connected battery and used enclosed charger to charge. Took off side panel to view choke for first start. Followed starting instructions. Started right up perfect. Was watching choke, worked great. Runs great, low noise, powers everything we plug in with no issues even in eco mode. Like the remote start. We also have a Honda 3000 watt generator, and the 4500 performs just as good or better than the Honda so far....

Have had several generators or various makes, tried Westinghouse due to being "American company" worst generator I have used to date, poor quality, terrible design, worst handle ever made. Carb. has stuck needle valve, fuel shut off already defective. Oil changes very difficult and poorly thought out for user. Will say remote start is handy but why have display light activated as it can run battery down, if i need to turn on switch to enable remote why not just push start button on front of unit instead, silly in design.
