We bought the iGen4500 DF to provide backup power for our all electric home when we have power outages, which we seem to be having more often. This generator easily provides power for our 2 refrigerators and a freezer giving us the peace of mind that we won't loose our food. It also provides enough spare power to run many of our other needs to sustain living in our house after a storm or other outages. We got the Dual Fuel model as we also have propane tanks just in case there are gasoline shortages.

I purchased an iGen4500 a couple months ago. When l finally got around to trying to fire it up, it would make a loud screeching noise and would not start. I had to take it to an authorized shop, where they had it for 3 weeks, before Westinghouse elected to send out a replacement generator. I went to fire up the new generator, and guess what?!? This one wont start either!! Two generators, and both of them are defective. DO NOT BUY, their products don't work. God forbid I needed it during an emergency, and this thing wont start.

This is the second one I've purchased. The first was unfortunately stolen when my work trailer was broken into. After using the previous igen4500 daily for over a year with no issues there was no question I had to buy the same model again. Highly recommend!

What matters most is performance and features, and I am very pleased with the generator. It's the small details that prevent a full five-star review. There were a few plastic shavings on the casing and panels that could have been cleaned up. Some of the compartment screws are a bit rough and seem like they will strip easily. A few scuffs here and there, but it is plastic. I just wished I was the one that caused the scuffs than it arriving that way. Based on several reviews, I checked the sparkplug for proper seating and gap, and it was fine. Initial startup couldn't be simpler. Once it was broken in a bit, I hooked it up to the RV and ran all lights, microwave and A/C with no difficulty. This is a hefty generator and will keep you fit. Squat to pick it up or you'll end up in the ER.

I’ve been researching generators for the last three months I bought two they did not work to my specifications I returned them and I finally bought the Westinghouse 4500. This generator is definitely a great generator it is enough power to run everything I need to and some.

Have had several generators or various makes, tried Westinghouse due to being "American company" worst generator I have used to date, poor quality, terrible design, worst handle ever made. Carb. has stuck needle valve, fuel shut off already defective. Oil changes very difficult and poorly thought out for user. Will say remote start is handy but why have display light activated as it can run battery down, if i need to turn on switch to enable remote why not just push start button on front of unit instead, silly in design.

We bought this generator to power our travel trailer. Added oil and gas....wouldn't start. Did some research online and found the "fix" for the automatic choke. Once that issue was taken care of, the iGen4500 does everything we wanted and expected it to do. It runs our A/C on the camper with not a great amount of noise.

This is one of the best generators i have ever used. I use it with my travel trailer when we camp on the beach. it is super quiet so it doesn't annoy the neighbors and i love the remote on/off option. no more having to run outside! its so much easier to move than my original. My only complaint is that the label that has the serial number on it has completely eroded.

After reading reviews of good and bad, and watching YouTube videos if I happen to get one with the Choke issue I decided to order one ,just like a lot of reviews said choke comes unplugged in shipping I had that happen to me, wouldn't start so pulled sides off plugged choke wire back in and boom fired right up and no problems since, runs everything on rv and very quiet. Glad I made purchase

So far so good, just recieved a couple days ago and everyrthing seems to be working fine. Had a small concern initially when trying to turn off the generator the push button and the remote would not shut it down. Had to turn the battery switch off. But after having to leave and come back and before calling customer support, gave it another try and both the push button and remote worked. So all is good as of now. Can't wait for the wife to use it on her next horse back riding trip.
