Ease of use

Read the manual and follow instructions accordingly and this little beast will last you a lifetime. Be sure to stabilize the fuel before storage and pull the spark plug, add 1 teaspoon of oil, replace plug and pull until you feel compression resistance and leave it like that. Leave plug wire off to prevent accidental startup. I plan on purchasing another unit for my campsite. I know my stuff…go get ya one

After reading some reviews I was a little worried

After reading some reviews apparently mine was finished on a Wednesday I have had no issues started up first time with a remote ,push button ,and pull start. I had a friend that had the same one absolutely loves it .That’s why I purchase this one ,so far so good very happy with its performance at our off grid property in the wood. It’s super quiet and ran it Friday,Saturday,& Sunday at the camp and burned 6.5 Gallons 2 campers just necessities no A/C unit this weekend was cool ,but I did run the air just to test it’s operation and it handled it no problem.Digital information is awesome and gives instant feedback once a load changes, Fuel economy, run hours at that load.

Awesome Generator

I got this generator in January but haven’t used yet as it is winter and not camp season. It’s now April so I am getting ready for use. I filled with oil, fuel, and connected the battery. Unit fired right up both with push start on the unit and with the remote. I let run for 30 minutes to start the breakin period. The unit was quiet especially for the size. I didn’t test with a meter but it’s possibly a little quieter than my Generac 2200 watt inverter. Gave 4 star as I haven’t used at all to be able to give a five star rating. Also it’s nice to have the extendable handle but it feels flimsy like the handle on travel luggage. This unit is heavy so will just have to see how it holds up. Not concerned that handle will affect my like for the generator as the wheels seem big and sturdy.

The generator i Gen 4500 is very quiet.

The i Gen 4500 is quiet and easy to start. It has many features that its competitors don't , such as built in dolly wheels and handle, gas gauge, remote start key, and is a very good lookin unit with a very organized front display. Also the battery and oil compartments are easy to access. So far love this generator.

Perfect Choice

I researched hours for what I hoped would be the perfect generator. I have a "whole house", 11K generator, but store sold me on whole house when in fact I would have needed another 6-10K. So last year during Irma, the whole house decided to konk out and left me with no power. I borrowed a 3700 and ran 2 refrigerators, freezer, computers, tv & fans. It saved me as power was out exactly 6 days. So I settle on the iGen 4500 because of features and price and I can see I didn't make a mistake. I'll get to the cons but the pros: easy start and far quieter than I imagined. Had to keep going outside during test run just to make sure it was running. Love all the information on the digital screen and didn't even cough when I put a load on it. Seems to be frugal with the fuel use. The cons: First off the panels, all of which had to come off in order to access important pieces. The back for the battery, wire to connect battery was tucked so far under the unit you couldn't see it thru the access panel. They recommend draining fuel from the carb bowel after use but you have to take the five screws out of the side panel to access the unit. Why not use butterfly screws/bolts to make this process so much easier. On to oil access. You can see it but if your hands are big getting to the dip stick and getting it off and rethreaded takes some doing. Those are all minor details the company should be looking at and wouldn't deter me from buying this unit again. I don't want to have to use it but wow, what a great piece of mind I just bought. Had two other brands picked out but am sure this is the right one. With continued use maybe I'll update down the road.

Great generator so far quite enough plenty of poer

Note.. when received and first started the auto choke didn't work, after some research I found it had was disconnected.took apart a couple panels re plugged it fired right up. Put some liquid tape on the connection so it shouldn't happen.. other than that it runs my 15 k ac/ microwave ,electric furnace all at once. Sipping was prompt, arrived in good shape, happy so far. Changed oil after fifteen minutes break in, then 15 hrs later, oil was black. I'm thinking that's the limit for me, oil change piece of cake. Thx Mark

Great features

I purchased this Generator ( my firist one ever) for a camping trip to power a 22 foot bumper pull camper. This unit worked flawlessly. followed the instructions and had no issues. Just read reread and made sure I did not miss anything in preping. Hope to use again in the next 4 weeks when it is colder.

Powerful Easy-To-Use Generator -- IGen 4500

Generator arrived in perfect shape -- just added oil and we were off and running. Easy to understand manual and the controls are nicely organized. It runs quiet and the electric start is a real plus. Did a lot of research before buying and believe this is the best value compared to comparable generators.

Excellent Unit

The wife and I just bought our first a new Travel Trailer. Graduated from a Tent Trailer. We needed a Generator that would not only meet the power needs of our trailer, but would be allowed within the National Parks. This Generator meets those needs as well as it's 1/3 the price of similar competitive models. I won't mention names but the initials are H and Y.... Right out of the box, I filled the oil, gas and connected the battery, started up on first pull, and the electric stat with remote. I am very please and would recommend Westinghouse's iGen line to all future Campers.

Great generator!

I love the external remote!!! Runs great and efficient! Easy to use and start! I wish there was a button to preload/head start heavy loads… when running my AC and then trying to start microwave at same time the generator fails and I have to reset it. The draw is well under 4,500 watts as my RV is only 30 amps.
