Nice and quiet

Great features when they work. They generator is quiet and works great, good power to run a small home. The remote start feature has some glitches. It works sometimes, but not all the time. There are you tube videos available on how to address the problem. Over all a good little generator!

Better Than Expected

Bought this unit a week ago and works like a charm. Delivery was fast and the unit works smoothly. The noise level is not loud at all, wife says it sound like a lawnmower running from inside the house. Starts up with a push of a button or the remote. Pull starting fires up maybe after the second or third pull. It's will take two to lift without injuring your back, but if push come to shove you can do it by yourself. Great product and very satisfied.

Very Quite

I wanted to get as small and quite a generator that would provide power during emergencies for my home. I started up after a few attempts and it was very quite and for the power very maneuverable with the telescoping handle. Be careful adding the oil when setting up or you'll make a big mess. Go slow and check to see if it is emptying from fill plug so it doesn't overflow too much. I have not had the chance to use it to power anything yet, but turns on and all the functions seem to work so far. I'll have to put it through it's paces before the next power outage to make sure it handles the load I want it to.

Peace of mind

We have a decent amount of power outages here - last one was 36 hours - and with little kids, pets, etc, it's nice to have a backup. I can also see this being useful camping. I had no problems with the unit. It was delivered straight to the house. I unboxed it, followed the instructions for adding oil, gasoline, and connecting the battery, and it started right up. I haven't had a real power outage since it arrived, but I've tested it out on shop lights and other tools - no issues whatsoever. It is easy to maneuver with the wheels and handle. Not too loud when running. Overall I am glad I bought this and wish I had done it earlier! A coworker of mine has the same one and he loves it. My parents also have the same one and they had it connected to a transfer switch at their house. So far everyone I know (including myself) who has this unit is pleased.

Easy to use

This generator has a couple of great features that my previous generators had not; The battery start is great! Just push a button and it fires up. The remote is great for when you're starting and stopping more often. This machine is less than half the noise decibels than my previous generators. Two thing I don't care for but are far out-weighed by it's benefits are; the handle for moving it around is awkward and would be easy to re-design. The second is the outside shell is mainly plastic. We'll see how it holds up over the years.

Great Generator for home or RV

I have been shopping for an inverter generator for some time now and looked at all the reviews for this type of generator for my living quarters horse trailer. The Westinghouse iGen 4500 checked all the boxes. It is easy to operate and the digital screen tells you everything you need to know when the generator is operating. Great maneuverability, light weight and quiet.

Great features

After months of comparing features and reading reviews and watching youtube videos, I decided to order the Igen 4500. I chose this generator because of it's 4500 watt peak capacity for use in our RV, and also emergency use at home. Setup was easy and started up first time with no issues. Love the remote start.

Nice balance of features.

I'm not trusting Texas power grid this year. Glad I decided to go with this larger size and put on a 30A back feed breaker. Powers entire house with all of the basics running; frig, gas furnace blower, lights, 75" TV/amp, computer, including a 1600W microwave that pushed temporary draw up 3200W. Eco mode drops RPM slightly and extends run time. Installed sliding interlock on electrical panel and moved breakers around a little. Plastic insulated shell keeps it relatively quiet. Runs at lower RPM versus smaller generators at higher more annoying RPM.

Great Generator out of the box

The generator arrived today in a well packaged box, good packing material and all componets in good working order. Setup was very easy and generator started on the second pull. Battery charged overnight with supplied charger and it starts easily with push button or remote phob. Gen runs very quiet and I like the information panel. We will see how it does on its first real full use on a camping trip. All in all to this point I am happy witht he purchase.

Great first use after quirky set-up

Just a few days after receiving the iGen5000c, our power went out. Jumping ahead, the unit started right up, worked flawlessly, and was blessedly quiet (our old generator sounded like a truck using compression brakes). However, the preparation was not free of annoyances. Dutifully adhering to the Quick Start Guide > Before Starting instructions, I attempted to "Remove the engine service cover to access the oil dipstick." After spending quite a while trying to get the cover off (and failing), I discovered the small oil dipstick access panel on the other side of the generator. How did Westinghouse make such an obvious mistake in the documentation? Anyway, I used the provided funnel to fill the oil through the dipstick hole. I observed the "Do not overfill" caution, which I now interpret to mean "keep pouring in the oil until you start to wonder if it's too much. Then unscrew the funnel. If oil doesn't gush out of the dipstick hole, reinsert the funnel and pour some more in. Otherwise, stop filling and wipe up the mess." The Quick Start Guide omitted any mention of attaching the battery cable; that useful advice was found on a little yellow tag. I struggled to attach the battery cable, because the clip was way too tight. I doubt I'll be able to detach the wires without pliers (or wire clippers). When we lost our power in a windstorm, I filled the gas and started the generator. It fired right up, and worked perfectly. Hopefully it will continue to do so...
