Great for travel trailer/RV use, met expectations

I bought this generator for my 35 foot travel trailer to run my appliances and air conditioner. With a full load of the trailer (everything on and running with a 13.5 KBTU air conditioner) the generator was running at a 75% load. Price point is excellent, you would have to spend twice as much for a Honda product with less afeatures. While running the air conditioning inside the trailer, I could not hear the generator and it was ten feet behind our trailer. Remote start is an,excellent feature but took three tries to start after sitting overnight. Prior to purchase I read several reviews and only 25 percent were negative, which helped me make my decision. After putting gas and oil in it straight out of the box it started right up. Overall pleased with product.

Great features

Bought this because our old conventional generator was too loud and annoying during an extended power outage at our home. This unit is very quiet and should be safer to use with our electronic devices. We won't have to refuel as often with the larger tank and easier for my wife to use with the electric starter.

nice product

We purchased this unit last month. It was delivered in a timely manner, all parts were there, and it looked great. We put some fuel into it and it ran perfectly. So far the only sad point for me is the weight of the unit. I am in my seventies and not so strong as I used to be so picking this generator or any generator this size up does not work for me. I purchased a pick up truck rack hoist to lift the generator in and out of my truck. Problem solved. I have no complaints as of this date.

iGen4500

Generator arrived quickly, packaged nicely. Followed all instructions on setting up unit before first time starting. Generator fired up on first attempt and purred beautifully. Ran unit for a short a time and then put a load on it off and on at different levels. Will be finishing up break in process today. So far so good. Love the remote start on/off.

Very Pleased

I needed to open the side and front panel to reconnect the wire harness for the automatic choke, but it was an easy and immediate fix. I have used the generator several times with my travel trailer. The remote start is great, and the generator runs appliances and the a/c with ease. It is also extremely quiet. I have camped near several other generator brands and the iGen4500 is by far the most quiet.

Great product and features. wish all worked

This unit is so quiet. It runs well.I am very glad I got this. Easy to pull start until the pull cord gets caught, then challenging. Need replacement kit. The battery start doesn't work often. It is a minor issue for me, but would be nice for the remote start to work.

Love it

I bought this on 4/5 and it showed a couple days later. It fire up when i put oil and gas in it the very first time. I took it camping and had issues with the choke like most of these have I took it home and tore into and found the plug behind the control panel wasn't routed correctly, rerouted over top of the loom and works perfectly.

Great Features

Item arrived intact and started without any issues. Generator is easily holding the power consumption drawn by my RV trailer (AC cooling at full capacity, fridge and microwave) did not have this generator for long and will report back after a year to provide a more detailed review.

Almost a perfect Generator for an RV.

I bought this for our 35' 5th Wheel after struggling with two smaller units in parallel. After a long and tedious Break In period, we have run it ~350 hrs. over the past summer in sweltering heat at times -- over 100F. We run it non stop boondocking for three or four days at a time and have had ZERO Problems with it. The run time is very good, not great when running the AC continuously, but that's what you get in a compact unit. In our RV, we are running the AC, Fridge, Hot Water Heater, Ceiling Fan, Coffee Pot, Microwave, two Satellite receivers with 32" TV's, Device Chargers and the occasional Hair Drier and the coach battery charger. Never all at once, but I don't have to do much "Power Management" and use common sense. However, on a hot day, pulling ~30Amps continuously for hours is not uncommon. I installed a "Soft Start" on the AC. Best investment next to the IGen4500. Makes life easy on everything. Also, a GOOD Break In and load test is really important - to me anyway. The first start up with factory oil was on and off every 30-minutes for a couple of hours allowing it to completely cool off. Then the same with a half load or so with with an electric heater turning the heater on and off every 15-minutes or so. Then an oil change at about 5-6 hours. Then a load of Full Synthetic Mobil Delvac-1 5W-40 Engine Oil. Repeating the same procedure, although going up to full load with two electric heaters, again varying the load between zero, half and full load+ with full cool downs for another 5-6 hours, then another oil change with synthetic. Then I ran it about another ten hours with several cool down / start ups cycles with varying loads of zero up to the maximum output of 4k+ -- for several minutes at a time. After about 20 hours or so, I changed the oil one last time before we hit the road with it. I have been changing the oil at about 100hr intervals since. Zero oil consumption and it comes out pretty clean. Our last trip we ran it non-stop for over 70hrs. After ~350hrs on it, I am pretty happy. It has been the least of my worries traveling.

Add oil and fuel - Started first try

After weeks of research, I purchased the igen4500. I had read about various issues associated with the choke and upside down 30amp plug. Both of these issues appear to have been resolved in the manufacturing process as neither materialized on my unit. Added oil and fuel, started up straight away. 2 days later I ran it for 24 hrs in 40 degree, humid conditions without issue. Fully satisfied.
