As a mechanical engineer with 40+ years designing advanced military products I am thoroughly impressed, and appreciate the effort that went in to developing this product. The user interface is excellent, and it appears that quality components were used throughout. The instructions/user manual are clear and complete, and the initial setup was straightforward. It started right up with the first push of the start button, and the reasonably-low sound level is a big plus. At this point I only have two suggestions: 1) the Battery Compartment Door could be a little larger -- manipulating the battery in place and strapping it down is slightly inconvenient, and 2) the font size of the labeling and marking print could be larger. Otherwise, my hat's off to you; Bravo!

Purchased to accompany us on our RV trips and it is PERFECT. Easy to get set-up and even easier to use. We are novice and this is our first generator so we were worried about it being complicated but it is VERY EASY! Dual fuel is a wonderful feature but our favorite is the REMOTE START!

I live in Texas and there never really comes a time when we'll ever need a generator, but. when we received a winter snowstorm and our power went out, I'm sure glad that we bought this. The generator is pretty efficient and doesn't take too much gas, and it's also pretty quiet. Overall, glad to have made this purchase.

Bought this for frequent power outages. I’ve only had it a few days and have not yet used it for its intended purpose. However I’m rehabbing an old cinder block storage building and my electrician had to drop power for the power company to add a new service. I’d planned to use battery powered tools, but took the IGen 4500 up instead. It ran saws, drills and rotary hammers with no problems. I ran it for 10-12 hours, and it still had almost a half tank of fuel left. I used the pull start both days, and it started on the first pull every time. Downside is the sucker is heavy (expected), and the handle to roll the unit feels a little flimsy.

We have a decent amount of power outages here - last one was 36 hours - and with little kids, pets, etc, it's nice to have a backup. I can also see this being useful camping. I had no problems with the unit. It was delivered straight to the house. I unboxed it, followed the instructions for adding oil, gasoline, and connecting the battery, and it started right up. I haven't had a real power outage since it arrived, but I've tested it out on shop lights and other tools - no issues whatsoever. It is easy to maneuver with the wheels and handle. Not too loud when running. Overall I am glad I bought this and wish I had done it earlier! A coworker of mine has the same one and he loves it. My parents also have the same one and they had it connected to a transfer switch at their house. So far everyone I know (including myself) who has this unit is pleased.

bought this igen4500 to replace an aging mge5800 backup generator that’s 20 years old and very noisy. After the recent and numerous Sonoma County fires, I needed a replacement generator that my wife could also operate with ease. The igen4500 gives the ease of starting with the remote start plus the telescoping handle allows my wife and I to move the igen4500 without hesitation. No longer will our ears have to suffer the noise that our reliable mge5800 made through our forced 6 day power shutdown by PG&E. We have the quietness and the needed power supply from igen4500 for any future needs. My wife was absolutely thrilled that she could operate the igen4500 by herself. Her smile said it all.

I read several reviews over many different makes of generators and this one time and time again had some of the best especially for the cost of this generator. I was not let down. Now it’s just a matter of time before I buy the second one to be able to run everything in my tv at once.

I now own two Westinghouse Inverter Generators. I bought the iGen2200 a few months ago and liked it so much I bought the iGen4500 to use at home and with my RV. It is the largest inverter generator I could find and the price was good. The generator is very quiet, extremely easy & convenient to start with the pushbutton or the remote fob, but, there are some things I don't like. The first is that the 30A receptacle is upside down. I had read about it in other reviews, but, didn't grasp the significance. I cannot completely plug in my RV plug because the plastic cover interferes with the plug. It also falls out easily since the weight of the wire is above the plug. The other thing that I don't like is more than just an annoyance. I bought the 4500 (3700 running) watt generator to be able to power the air conditioner in my RV when not connected to shore power. My RV has a 30 Amp connection. When plugged into shore power my AC, refrigerator, coffee pot, ice maker and lights (all LED) are all powered with no issues. When I try to run my AC only with my generator, it frequently trips into overload status. This generator should have no issues running my AC (3,700 Watts/110V = 33.6A). So, it is either defective or the rating is accurate. Maybe it needs a break-in period...? I've only used it on one camping trip so far. (Side note - I had ordered it for a cross-country trip. The original shipping date was well before my departure date, but, repeated delays in shipping dates caused it to arrive at my house the day before I returned from my trip). I could parallel both of my generators, but, the reason I got the 4500 was so that I didn't have to carry two generators, especially when one is as large and heavy as the iGen4500. I would give this a "qualified" recommendation depending on requirements.

The generator came in great condition and a day earlier than scheduled. I thought the remote was missing but it was clipped to the pull start cord. I followed the directions for the initial test run and it fired right up. Easy set up. It was actually quieter than I was expecting for being a 4500. I let the generator run for the break in period and it never wavered. This will be a nice upgrade from our “loud” generator when we go camping and for my music entertainment business when in remote locations. Highly recommend.

I'm giving 5 stars for the igen 4500 although I just received it and just got it running. Arrived on time with no damage put the oil in but not entire bottle as there was already oil in it. Hooked up the battery gave it a drink of fresh gas pushed the button and off it went. The remote worked as well and will be nice if the wife needs to use it. Overall very happy but time will tell.
