Haven't used it on the road yet, but I am VERY impressed with out quiet the unit operates. Looks like Westinghouse made some updates to the new model I got, start button is moved above the 30 amp rv plug in and a few other things. Hopefully this means all the bugs were taken care of in the gen 1 model. Cant wait to use boondocking!

Bought this 4 months ago, and the ONLY problem I had with it was finding the serial number, which turned out to be just below the exhaust port. (Due to my own laziness I didn't get around to calling Westinghouse for help for several weeks, and then due to health and personal maneuverability reasons I had to wait till my son could help me. That was another few weeks ago, and only now am I finally getting around to registering and writing this review. NONE OF THAT is the fault of Westinghouse!) Following the simple instructions, my son helped me un-box the unit, fill the oil, add a small amount of gas and get it started. It took several tries at first, but eventually fired up and ran fine. I shut it off, waited a few minutes, and then it started again on the first try. I repeated this several times. So far I'm very confident in this generator. It runs quiet and that was important to me.

I waited for a year to review. This generator starts and runs perfectly. I do run it periodically with a 10,000 BTU AC unit for a load so it is always ready when I need it. The computerized display showing fuel consumption and run time left is awesome. The built-in lift/tow arm makes moving it around a breeze. Nice design.

Just opened it, added oil and fuel, plugged in battery, turned fuel lever and start rocker switch to on, pressed remote to start... VOILA! PERFECT...! Literally, less than ten minutes after un-boxing it I had a perfectly running generator that is QUIET! So excited... thank you W-house

Although I had difficulty with the user manual (there are too many important things printed in sections of the book that are misplaced) and I had difficulty starting the generator at first, I have come to find its a sweet little piece of machinery that is perfect for my needs. Only used it once in 3 years but it powered alot during 3 days without power. TV, refrigerator, a couple of lamps, charged all our phones and more.

Does everything a generator should do, but quieter, easier, and with more versatility. Especially liking the ease of an electric start, onboard USB charging, and its ability to throttle-down for low-load ultra quiet operation and its ability to run electronics directly. All things which are not possible, or more difficult to do via a traditional generator.

The review sign up did not have a IGEN2500 item in the drop down list so i chose the 4500 which is not what i have. Anyway... I put oil and a little gas in it and pulled 3 times and started up. Ran a little rough at first but to be expected. Plugged in a few things and every thing was working as expected. After a while it smoothed out. Looks like a winner!

Just arrived today. Straight forward start up instructions with adding oil and gasoline. Some confusion on the sticker about the on/off switch. Would not start manually or initially with electric start. Discovered it worked fine when the engine panel removed. Tried 3 times reattaching the panel cover with same results. Will talk to technical support when they are available.

Fired up on first try. Much quieter than expected. Only negative was Owners Manual has been updated and I received old manual. Easily corrected by going online. If your manual tells you to tilt the unit and drain the oil from the the fill plug opening it is wrong (suspect this was the way previous smaller units were done). Should read ...using 12mm wrench remove oil drain bolt....etc.

Just received the unit. Well built and performs extremely well. Would have given 5+ stars except - the battery terminals were already connected to the battery and the negative bolt and connection were very corroded, Quick disconnect, clean and treat with battery connection spray fixed that. Starts easily with electric start or pull rope, idles right down and runs very quiet for so much power. I'd get it again !!
