Easy to start and quiet, Handle and wheel Awesome

Will Use For Hurricane Power Outages. Starts right up. Only used it for testing so far. I like it although there is No 220 output. I should have noticed this. Seems odd that the Unit requires no load when starting and when turning off. Makes the remote kind of useless.

I've got questions...

I bought this about 6 months ago after a week long power outage at my house. I haven't had to use it for any length of time yet. But I have ran it like ther manual says to probably have around two hours on it. I've done a load test for my "emergency appliances" it is more than enough to power it. Once it runs it runs well. So out of the box I had done questions. The fuel nob was not attached. Most of the screws looked like they had stripped damage. That was weird. So the first few times I tried to start it it took a solid 30 minutes to get it to start. So I started researching and found people have had issues with the electric choke for a 'cold start' . Once it's warm no issues. I was told you can remove the side panel and manual move the choke and it starts no problem. That's a little irritating to me because the push button and remote start where kind of a selling point for me. Such as if I wasn't home my wife could wheel it out press a button on the key fob and have power. But now added in that I would have to walk her through opening up a side panel and explaining where the choke is doesn't excite me. It would be nice if they added a push button or lever that was a "cold start" choke that just did that simple action without having to open it up. Other people mentioned upgrading the spark plug helped then out quite a bit... that said. I've had a difficult time finding alternative spark plugs according to their chart. I'm not sure if the spark plug they mentioned are obsolete or not common to the area I'm in. Everyone I've talked to say NGK spark plugs are the way to go, so if they could at least add a reference to which one would be appropriate that would be nice. I would recommend this to someone with an RV who is going to start it and run it for a while frequently. But not really for someone using it as a backup for their house.

Protectiob for hurricane season

Now that hurricane season is here, I feel better having a new electric start generator to power a portion of the house. I am impressed how easy it is to start and operate, plus much quieter than the generator that this one is replacing. Won’t have to hear the neighbors complain about the noise in the middle of the night.

Love the FOB start, 22 hours and no issues!

Deliver was very quick and easy to connect battery, fill with oil. Took the generator on a weekend camping trip and ran for 22 hours with no issues. Electric start is great and remote start FOB is a plus! Ran everything on the 30 amp service for the weekend and only burned approximately 2 gallons of fuel. Very happy with this purchase and recommend for RV campers!

Good generator but...

The owner's manual is terrible. It doesn't explain things fully so that you have to contact Westinghouse repeatedly by phone. The manual is also outdated with confusing diagrams that don't even match the generator display and features. Apparently some oil was left in the generator when packed/shipped and it leaked all over the bottom and sides of the unit and into the plastic bag that it was packed in. So the oil caused the foam baffling on the oil access door to come off and it will not stick back on. Also, be aware of the battery pins that need connecting, not to the battery itself as per in the instructions, but pin to pin. The connecting pin was hidden off to the side in mine and I thought I had a bad battery. Also, as explained to me on the phone, in order to manually crank the motor you have to manually choke it by taking off the side panel and find a choke switch on top of the carburetor. It is a royal pain to unscrew the panel just to manually crank it...bad design! I hope everything else works better than the initial startup problems. The tech told me that a new manual is being written for this generator and I can see why.

1st time is a charm

I did a lot of shopping around to find an affordable generator in my price range with all of the features I needed. The iGen4500 met all of my requirements. Did some review searching and found there was a problem with the auto choke. Watched a very detailed YouTube video showing how to connect the missed wire. Decided that I could fix it if it was a problem. Pulled the generator out of the box and followed all of the prep steps, fueled it up and used the included remote to start it. It cranked right up on the first push and choke worked just fine. Attached it to my camper and it handled the load just perfectly. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Work great, easy to start.

Bought October 2020. I have used it only 5 times so far and it has run great and starts easy. Good on gas, like the remote start. Suppose to get down to 10 degrees in Houston Tx. this week and they are talking about rolling blackouts being possible. If it happens I know the IGEN4500 will be ready for the task.

Excellence 30A rv generator

Bought this for my Cougar 5th Wheel. We do a lot of dry camping, and my older generator was a little louder than i would like. Always felt it might be an annoyance to other campers. The iGen4500c is just a soft purr when running. I can hardly notice it running, while inside the RV. Haven't been able to run the AC unit yet as it's too cold to get the compressor to cycle. Running the AC fan, microwave, and DC converter at the same time didn't seem to elevate the noise level that much. There is one aspect of the remote start that I will have to test come camping season. The "Battery ON" switch, that has an indicator light lit in the on position, has to be "on" to allow the remote start function. So, my concern is, will this draw enough of the start battery power over night to compromise the next remote start? Hopefully it's an LED indicator and the draw is minimal. The engine oil service looks like it could be a little messy, as the drain allows the oil to collect in the plastic bottom cover. Some rags or shop towels are a must for that operation. Putting the oil in, prior to start-up, I parked the unit over a scrap piece of plywood anticipating some "drippage", but none was found. An awesome plus is the Data panel, as i was planning on adding that feature to my old generator! Overall it seems to be a nice unit and I am looking forward to next years camping season with it.

Great Unit

I got this unit because my other one is worn out. It is used mostly for dry camping and as a back up at my home. I have had it for several days at this time. I got it because of all the good reviews and hope it lives up to them. I set it up as told and had no trouble with it. The unit started up on the first try with the remote start and even after setting awhile it was a easy start with the pull start. I allowed it to run for a little while before putting a small load on it and not trouble. Later I pluged up my camper to it and it had not trouble running everything in it. So as of now i can say I believe it to be a great unit and will do the job of other higher price units. The only problem I have is it is a little louder that I hoped but it is still quit enough that it will be no problem when camping . Yes I will recommend this to anyone that needs a good unit.

Great Bang For The Buck

With the remote start and the power output generated it's near impossible to find a comparable generator. We love the remote start feature which allows us to turn the generator on while inside the comfort of our toy hauler. Handle and wheels make it easy to transport. Would highly recommend!!
