I've had these composters for several years, and when some parts rusted I could not find the receipt, but contacted Lifetime to see about how to get replacements. They still had my information on hand from a previous contact and immediately ordered replacements for me under warranty. I love the composters themselves, too. It's great to have two bins, so that one can be finished while adding more raw materials to the second.

Some time ago I bought this Compost Tumble and have been filling it since. It is easy to use and works very well. About a year after I bought it, it developed a problem with a hinge that didn't seem normal to me. I asked about it on the Lifetime Product website and within a day steps were taken to solve my problem. I like good products with good service.

Well designed, rotates easily and the two barrel arrangement is convienent. We had a problem with the hinges rusting which was probably due to our wet marine climate (Newfoundland, Canada). Lifeline replaced the hinges, free of charge, within one business day. I will add some grease to these to prevent rusting. Good product. Excellent service.

Bought the dual compost tumbler product over 5 years ago. Works great! Had recently problems with rusty latches that were stuck in place similar to other posts. Called customer service and had better replacement parts sent. Now I can keep composting!!!

Time will tell if I have any rusting problems with the hinges, and how resistant this will be to a curious bear that has been known to climb our 7' fence.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked this composter a lot at first. Now the locking mechanism on both sides is so rusted it's very hard to get them closed completely. I thought I had it closed enough yesterday (but evidently didn't) and and of course it dumped half baked compost all over the place when I turned it. What a mess. I'm going to call the manufacturer to see if their lifetime warranty is, in fact, that. It's only about 5 years old.

It will be hard to say enough great things about the Customer Service Dept any Lifetime. They responded quickly and provided parts for this composter for a know issue. Way to stand behind your products. I will look for ways to buy more of your products in the future.

The double bin feature allows one load to mature while the other takes the fresh matter. After 5 years the company replaced a rusted hinge at no charge. I'm looking forward to years and years more use.

Yes the metal internal parts rust. But simply coating with spray on oil like WD40 or spray lithium grease will give more years of service. Spray the hinges and latch mechanism every 3 months or so helps a lot. But Lifetime should really make a design with stainless steel for the internal parts, that would solve many problems. Also cover the composter during rain to keep your mix from getting too wet. I got 2 giant plastic bags and simply drop a bag over each bin.

A local school gave this composter to me and it needed a little doctoring. I called to order some parts and they were promptly delivered, GRATIS! Great customer service. Keep the metal greased and oiled and the tool will do you well. Thank You Lifetime.
