- 5 out of 5 stars review8/19/2025I'm replacing an older, less powerful John Deere generator with the Westinghouse. The Westinghouse is slightly smaller, a bit lighter, and much easier to maneuver. It started right up during the first test run. I've used it twice for short power outages in the two weeks since I received it. No issues so far. The THD is high at 23%, but my UPSs only complain a little compared to the JD 5% THD generator it is replacing. Hopefully the engine holds up as well as the Honda on the JD it is replacing.
Great, so far
TS45177Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review8/19/2025Bought this generator to use for a backup power supply or when need power where i have no supply. It worked fine for the first couple of months had a issue with the Engine Switch I still have to replace it. Other than that it cranks up and runs fine.

Decoy6401Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/26/2025I love my Westinghouse generator. It starts on demand, never giving me any issues and the dual fuel is a great added feature. The push button start allows me to start it from anywhere, and the CO sensor gives me piece of mind when I am not around. Great generator.
My new Westinghouse generator
jkimballrrOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review9/13/2025This is a reasonably sized portable generator able to be stored (not used — too close to windows/doors to use safely) under a shed and is relatively straightforward to set up. It provides piece of mind if there is a power outage during extreme weather conditions.
Portable Piece of Mind
C. BrownOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/11/2025I just bought this and was able to set it up and move it by myself. It fits nicely in the small space I had to store it in while packing a lot of power! I was surprised how easy and clear it is to operate. I liked the remote start option especially.
Easy set up and easy to use!
jbudOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/21/2025This generator being duel fuel and not an inverter and only being 75 Decibals is solid deal. I'm not sure there's a better value generator. We bought this for emergencies (I.e. hurricanes in Florida). It's big enough to run through the switch I insalled on my house so I can run my AC and Fridge and even cook on my stove with the lights on.
Best Value generator out there
Erock89Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/8/2025Happy to have it in time for hurricane season in FL. The last 2 years we have lost power for multiple days and had to throw out everything in 2 refrigerators and a chest freezer. It's nice to know this will handle that load plus some if it happens again.
Hurricane season necessity
Kev_RxOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/5/2025Installation was easy except foot frame needed to be bent in little bit to make bolts line up with threaded holes. Oil which came with unit was left over after filling to full line so don't assume that using the whole quart plus 15% more is correct. Started right up using propane (have not used gasoline yet) but did backfire once and ran for about 5 minutes. Wheels and handle make it easy to move on paved surfaces. Remote start/stop fob worked as expected. I hope that the carbon monoxide sensor does not shut the unit down unnecessarily as has been reported by some on social media. Only time will tell about durability and reliability.

North TampaOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/23/2025Runs fine on gas and or propane runs everything in my small apartment except the inline hot water heater but living in Florida that's not necessary in an emergency. Keep in mind this is a heavy piece of equipment. You're not going to load and offload the sink from a truck by yourself
Nice but heavy
Florida man 55Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/26/2025I bought this because my dad had bought one just before Helene. It fed enough energy to his home to have AC, lights and keep fridge and freezer going. This thing cranked as soon as it turned over the first time and the dual fuel option is great for trying times.
Great Brand
xforce708Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/21/2025I have purchased two of these generators, one for myself and my father. Living in Florida where storms knock out power this generator is a must. In my opinion there is no better home generator on the market. The remote start and stop feature and the all the safety features give me peace of mind. Of the years of owning Westinghouse generators I have never had an issue.
Best Generator on the Market
JPNaylorOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review9/2/2026I recently purchased the Westinghouse WGen9500DFc Dual Fuel Generator with CO Sensor, and I've had it for about three weeks now. So far, it has been performing very well. I'm currently using it to power my construction office trailer on a ground-up project in Tallahassee, and it has handled the load reliably. Startup has been easy, operation has been consistent, and I like having the flexibility of both gasoline and propane. It's still early, but based on my experience so far, I'm very satisfied with the generator and would recommend it for jobsite or backup power use.

HectyOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 1 out of 5 stars review8/17/2026This unit quit giving power through the extension cord after just a half hour of 1st use. i had pugged in a second item into the power strip and everything turned off. I've tested the extension cord and power strip with power from my house now that I got my power back and everything works perfectly. I attempted to test to see if the generator would work but it still is not providing power to the extension cord.Linda TroxOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com
- 5 out of 5 stars review8/21/2026I bought the 9500df in November of 2020. I took it out of the box to check for damage and to put the wheels and feet on. I put it in the corner of my garage and it kinda got buried. Didn't even put the oil in it until August 2026. The battery was dead, (no use for almost 6 years)and I had no way to jump it. Had to pull start it. Minimal effort and it started. It ran off and on for 4 days on propane. After After about 21 hours of running the battery charged up and I was able to use the push button start. I am very pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend this this generator to anybody!
Great features
Ejamm87Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 3 out of 5 stars review9/8/2026I just bought it. It will be hooked up next week. I hope it lives up to the Westinghouse reputation. My only criticism at this point is that it is way too heavy for an old lady to consider it 'portable.' But, if it gets me through the power outages, I'll be happy.
Haven't tested it yet
widowladyOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/11/2026We bought this generator since we are in TX and quite frequently get power outages, sometimes transformers blowing and leaving us without power for hours due to so much new construction around us. After much research we decided on a Westinghouse, and we absolutely love it. It is a bit heavy to lift, but not so hard to pull. The remote start feature is also neat. Powerful generator to be able to power our entire home.
Great and powerful generator
AllehOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/12/2024We purchased this in the springtime based on the reviews of the product. We went through a dry run and let it operate for about an hour with all of our electric service turned off. I hard wired this into a plug to our load center with his own dedicated circuit breaker. We have a typical 2000 square foot home with a 3 1/2 ton air conditioner, and this generator ran everything except the water heater, dryer, and stove. Our air conditioner only draws 13.8 amps on startup. And this generator didn't even cough when it came on. We're running about a gallon of gasoline for every two hours based on our usage. The first three days we had no electricity and we ran a generator for 10 hours.
Went through Hurricane Milton!

Nonna valerieOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/24/2025I recently purchased the tri fuel generator after researching two other brands. The generator is was packaged well, study and seems to be a good build. It came with nice accessories like remote switch and 15' ft of gas hose. The ability to run on three fuel types is a plus. I can use the generator for my home during power outages with natural gas or take it camping and run it on propane or gasoline. I also like that the manual was well detailed with the maintenance schedule and a parts list. The price point and the reviews from multiple sites also helped make my decision. So far I'm satisfied with my purchase.
Excellent Tri Fuel Generator
AM 3NEOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/17/2025Flexibility to use different power sources, ease of setup. Safety features to ensure that the most inexperienced person feels at ease. Maintenance minders are also important for newbies like me. Also enough wattage for all necessary household items during a disaster event.
Just what i need
