Complete product design failure
This is a total design disaster. Every time I put the vacuum on the station to suck the dust out, there are debris blocking the vacuum’s dust bin cap closing and leave the bin unsealed. You will see dust flying all over the place when you use the vacuum with the dust bin unsealed. Also the button to manually open the dust bin is sensitive(the bin is completely opened just with 1/3 push of the button) located at the extremely easy-to-be-pushed spot, so when you are unaware you will dump all the dust and debris on you and the floor when you are carrying the vacuum after the cleaning. This happened really many times and it is definitely from a stupid design work rather than just clumsy of me.
Hi there, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We’re sorry to hear about the issues you’ve had with the dust bin not sealing properly and the release button opening unexpectedly, that’s definitely not the experience we want for you. Debris caught around the bin cap or gasket can sometimes prevent a full seal, but if this is happening repeatedly, we’d recommend that you refer to our self-help guide here to help troubleshoot the issue you’re experiencing: https://support.sharkninja.com/en-CA/article/IW4000-Series-Shark-Cordless-Detect-Pro-Vacuum-Troubleshooting-Guide-ca If the steps are unsuccessful, please follow the directions provided at the end of the guide. Love the auto empty!
Lightweight and suction seems amazing and I LOVE that is suctions out automatically from the canister after every vacuum when you put it back on the dock without my hair getting all clogged in there. I can probably empty out the dock/base once every blue moon.
Dirty, useless vacuum
I can not say enough bad things about this product! This is the worst vacuum that i have ever purchased. It does not pick up dirt, the door on the head doesn’t shut well, it spews dirt out the top and is very difficult to clean. I have to clean it after every use or it doesn’t work. This was purchased a month and a half ago and yesterday it went into the dumpster. This is a dirty machine that does not function well! This is the first time i have ever left a bad review on any product that i have owned. I have never owned a shark in the past and never will again.
Hi Cheryl, Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s clear this vacuum has caused a lot of frustration, especially with performance and maintenance issues. We strive to create products that make cleaning easier and more reliable, and insights like yours help us work toward that goal. Kind Regards, Shark Clean US.
Just No!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been using this for a month now, and it’s a real poor vacuuming cleaner. It hardly sucks the dust, and after vacuuming many rooms including many rugs, it only have a cuple of dust inside its cup. When i use it it always goes into this lock so i always have to out my feet on to losen it so it can vacuum. Also it only vaccum cleans when you push it forwards, not backwards!! This is not worth the money!

Junk
I started using this vacuum in November. I have already had to have the handheld part replaced. The vacuum suction does not work. It’s seemingly sucks things up and then dumps it all back on the floor. I just started using the new handheld that was sent to me And the vacuum is still doing the same thing except for now when I use it in boost mode, it turns off in about 20 seconds. The eco mode doesn’t suck anything up and boost mode sounds clangy and loud and then shuts off. This vacuum is not worth the money. This vacuum is not worth any money!!! I don’t think I will buy shark again.

Totally disappointed
I was so excited when I got this to help in the kitchen with all the dog fur. I am so disappointed. It barely has any suction. I have to go over areas multiple times, slowly and even still, fur/crumbs left behind. It only seems to suction when moving forward, not back.

Don't waste your money.
I bought this vacuum around christmas time. It does nothing but clog non stop. I spend more time unclogging than vacuuming. Now the roller won't engage so it won't work at all. So frustrated with this vacuum and so mad I wasted my hard earned money . This vacuum isn't cheap! Don't waste your money, buy dyson. Was happy with my dyson and decided to try this brand. Sorry I did.

Meh! A bit disappointed.
I am generally a fan of Shark vacuums. I already have 3 (a robot, and 2 lift-aways). So, when I wanted to go cordless, I thought of Shark first. I bought this Shark Detect Clean & Empty system about a month ago. So far, I am kind of disappointed. The suction is kind of sucky, as in it has very little power. It is a little heavier than I would like for holding it up to the ceiling to suck up dust-bunnies. If I use one of the 2 attachments, the sucking power is even worse. It is also a PITA to have to carry the attachments around with me as I clean. They do not attach to the vacuum and only one of them attaches to the base. AND, speaking of attachments, why can't Shark use a coordinated system where all attachments fit all (or most) of the vacuum styles??? I have some attachments from my older vacuums that I absolutely love. But, noooo, they can't be used with any other model.
Hi there, Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s clear how disappointing this has been, especially since you’ve trusted Shark for so long and own multiple products. We’d like to review the suction performance with and without attachments to see what’s happening and help improve your experience. Please give us a call at 1-855-427-5127. Our team is available Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET, and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET. Your feedback about attachment compatibility is also very valuable, and we’ll make sure it’s passed to the relevant teams for future improvements. Kind Regards, Shark Clean US.
Sorry but no
Worst vacuum cleaner I have ever used , not pet friendly can go from hard floors to carpet, the tub that sucks up the dirt constantly gets clogged , I love shark vacuums and will still recommend but not this model

DO NOT BUY
Garbage. DO NOT buy!!! Does not pick up items off floor. Drags them around. Magnet closure attracts tiny bits of metal on your floor and make it so the trap sill not close. Better off with a shop vac. Seriously, don't buy this item.
