The key is to choose them slightly hard. Once they ripen on the counter, I put them in the fridge and they stay fresh longer.

The advocados are firm without bad areas for the most part. Every so often will find one with dark spots.

We buy a bag of these every week; I recommend buying a sack of green ones and then tossing them in the fridge once they ripen.

It is rare if these avocados ever go bad. These ripen well. Rarely have to put them next to bananas. Deliciously buttery and creamy when mashed.
