The ice takes a little while to get going once plugged in and we thought it wasn't working, but we haven't had any problems. Very bright inside. I would definitely buy again.

Refigerator is great. HOWEVER, the right door gasket on top right was improperly installed at factory. Scheduled a replacement and arrived today. Right door gasket was installed INCORRECTLY on right door on both right and left sides. VERY Disappointing that LG quality control would allow this to pass inspections. Attached photo of gasket.

A nice refrigerator with a few caveats.

This was purchased as a replacement for a 17 year old refrigerator of another brand. I guess a lot has changed in 17 years. It has taken a bit of adjustment which, fortunately includes extra storage space, which we appreciate. The ice maker has a smaller capacity than we are used to, but it is sufficient. The in-door water/ice dispenser works well, but it would have been nice to have a better drip catcher. One thing that bothers me is the design of the power cord attachment to the unit. It comes up over the back of the fridge, across the top, and attaches near the front at the top of the door, where the power circuitry sits. It seems to me that a better design would have been for the cord to attach at the back, with it running under the top of the fridge. Even a top mounted channel would have been preferable to having it just lay on top. The shelves are roomy, and in-door fridge shelves are spacious, but, again, it would have been nice to make the shelves more adjustable. The shelf that holds a gallon of milk seems quite low. Being able to move it up would be nice. The drawers are large, but since the pulls for them are at the bottom of the drawer, and I am tall (6'5") it means I have to stoop quite a bit to get to the bottom drawer. In addition, the doors have to be opened all the way in order to pull out the bottom drawers, which seems unhandy. Speaking of doors, it took a bit of getting used to the "hidden" door handles. They do give the refrigerator a sleek look, however. Overall, we like this refrigerator. It is an adjustment from our previous one; getting used to a new one after 17 years, and me being over 70 is... well... An old dog getting used to new tricks.

Waiting for the other shoe to drop

We bought this replace a 12 yr old LG French door refrigerator. It had been a good performing appliancr until it had 3 breakdowns in a month. We liked and bought our current side by side for the accessibility to the freezer space. A couple months in we noticed our cheeses were getting moldy shortly after purchase. We were advised at time of purchase to buy an extended waranty. We did. We have had 2 warranty repairs done in the last 2 months. The basic problem is the refrigerator section is not staying cold enough. The repair tech set it at 37 and 3 days later the fridge was running at 41. We set it at 35, now it runs at 38. If this keeps going we will only have one more notch, 33 is the lowest setting. Freezer runs at -10, no matter what you set the freezer temp at. A 5 yr extended warranty is a must.

I called customer care, we reset it. Worked a while not anymore. I just pour the ice in a bag! I reset it several times it won't keep working! Aggravated!

Have only had about a month. Like the side-by-side frigerators, however, miss having Handles, there is NO drainage for the water/ice depenser area. The Ice Make keeps getting jammed up... have to remove ALL the ice to un-jamb!
