Like the fact that I can buy the ground beef in a bigger quantity so I can portion it for various dishes. This time was 88% lean as I would have liked it would have less fat but it did the trick. I drained some of the fat before using or frozen it. This is a good buy of quality beef.

While it isn't as lean as lean ground beef, this is almost as good. Once fully cooked, there is very little fat to drain off of it and not much gristle or other yucky stuff ground up in the meat. It definitely is good for making burgers, meatloaf, or for using as an ingredient in dishes that include ground beef.

This meat is so much leaner and better than other stores! I normally go to local grocery store for meats but I was at Sam’s and just grabbed a pack. I’ll be getting more at Sam’s! Local store you have to freeze it or it’ll brown and start going bad by the next day or two not this it last three days before I cooked all of it. Wasn’t bad and the pack was enough for two meals!

Sams hamburger used to be much better. I've started to notice little pieces of gristle in it, which is why I don't buy it at Walmart, so I don't like this much, anymore. If I need hamburger, and it's not on sale at my local grocery stores, I'll go ahead and get it, but only if I have to. Last time I bought it, I noticed all the hamburger was a strange color. When I got it home, I realized it was very close to expiring. I had to freeze it immediately. I wouldn't recommend unless you plan to cook or freeze it the day you buy it.

I always buy Sam’s ground beef, take home a 5-lb pack and then pat about half of it out into burgers and some bigger packs for chili, spaghetti sauce, etc. and freeze it. The meat stays fresh for a couple days if I don’t have time to parcel it immediately and it’s odorless. The 88% blend has just enough fat in it to make it easy to mash into burgers.

We've never had an issue with this beef. We prefer to buy our beef at Sam's. Seems better quality. Great for burgers on the Sister Schuberts rolls. Mix in spices (garlic, onion, and slices of choice such as pepper blend or roasted garlic and herb, or garlic parmesan) some shredded cheese, form into patties of desired thickness and fry or freeze for a later time.

Really great ! Bought for a taco party & was able to make several meals from the balance. I don’t know if it was strange, but it kept fresh longer than I expected. I transferred the balance to a gallon sealed bag & folded out the extra air. I’m impressed if it keeps as fresh as this regularly. I’m always afraid to purchase large packages of fresh hamburger because there’s just two of us. I only did because of the party & I’m extremely pleased with my purchase.

Something is different about this ground beef. It produces more fat or moisture when cooked. It is more like 70/30 beef. I weighed before and after and it was 30% fat that was left over. Not the first time I noticed this, about 8 months ago when purchased I noticed it wasn't as colorful as usual, happens when meat blooms after cutting. I will not be purchasing this again as I don't mind spending money, hate wasting money. Not a good value.
