Weight is off

While I do love the quality of the meat at Sam's, the weight was wrong. The package I bought said it was 4.65lbs, and when I separated it and weighed it in the zip lock bags, it was 4.08lbs. Weigh it before you buy it.

Bones in it

Three of my family members almost cracked our teeth on something very hard in the meat. It looked like really small bones. Thank God we didn’t crack our teeth but it did leave us with sore teeth. It’s unfortunate because I have been buying hamburger from Sam’s for many years but not too long ago they changed the meat to 88/12. Not sure what they did to it but I’m not chancing expensive dental bills.

What a disappointment !

I have been buying Member Mark 90/10 for years and have been very satisfied with the product. They didn't have the 90/10 so I bought the 88/12 and the change 2% made was dramatic. I browned the ground beef for chili and there was so much fat and water I had to drain off I couldn't believe it. It was like I had bought 72/25 meat. I hope they will still carry the 90/10 because I won't buy the 88/12 again.

Meat was bad!

Purchased this and had it delivered next day. Went to cook it, and it smelled "off". Thought it might just be me, so I started browning it, and there was definitely something wrong with it. It had a very sweet, pungent aroma that was not natural. Had my husband smell and taste a very small piece, and he agreed it did not taste normal either. Had to throw the whole batch in the garbage. Checked the "use by" date, and it was supposedly still good, but it obviously was not. A waste of over $20, and I would not recommend it.

G-R-E-A-T !!!!

Just to see if there was any discernable difference, I tried the 88/12 ground beef and to my surprise, found it almost exactly the same in taste, color, freezability, and amount of grease left in pan. Will continue to purchase (unless cooking for my picky daughter).

Meat smells terrible.

I occasionally buy meat from Sam's and this last time it looked good but the meat had a strong smell of sulfur. Once cooked through smell was even worse. Had to throw it out which is tough due to the price of it being around $19 dollars and cuts into my grocery budget and planned 4 meals for the meat. I will not buy it again.

88% prepackaged ground beef

This meat says it is fresh never frozen. I purchased this 88% ground beef & it was frozen. Also mentions ground fresh daily which is also not true per the staff. I was told that Sam's no longer grounds their beef any more & it is all prepackaged arriving by truck. I watched them unloading out of a box & it is prepackaged & prewrapped. I would like to know where it comes from & why Sam's no longer grounds their own beef. Sam's was my last place that I could buy ground fresh other than the butcher shops that are not as convenient.
