The sandbox is sturdy and very attractive. The crane is big and very well made (strong plastic, not the flimsy kind). I can see rough little boys playing and it will last. My only surprise is that it is smaller then I has expected. Some of the other online reviews said as many as 10 kids can play ... not true 3 small kids max. I think this is a perfect toy for 2-4 year olds. Love Little Tikes and this meets the expectations.

This is the cutest sandbox! We bought it for my 2 year old son, but my 8 and 10 year old seem to like just as much! The only negative thing is the excavator doesn't spin very well when sand gets in it, but if you clean it out with your water hose it helps a lot.

We purchased this for our 2 1/2 year old. My sister saw this and purchased it for her 1 year old. It's perfect for playing from the outside of the box for larger kids. We have a severe ant problem so we didn't put sand in this. My son's imagination is fabulous when it comes to playing with his trucks. It makes a perfect discovery toy. We have also used it outside as a water toy. My son plays with his boats sliding them into the water. He loves moving water from one container to another as well as watching water "sprinkle" from from the sieves that come with it. Splashes around inside it to cool off on hot spring (so far) days. My only complaint was the excavator was a challenge to put on and it doesn't seem as sturdy as the rest of the build.

I was hoping the lid was just 'flippable', but it actually has to be taken off and re-attached. The little crane doesn't work well as soon as sand gets under the swivel. Also, the sand will get extremely wet every time it rains. Cute idea but needs design improvements.

Great calming activity for my sensory seeking 5yr old son! He loves cars, diggers, trains, etc. so I bought this to give him something to do that he already likes and then as an added bonus, it provides him extra sensory input where he squats next to it to play as that is his favorite position.

Great for small area,My son is 5 and he loves it for his construction site its a hands in sandbox to small for a child to sit in. But the kids love it .Cons >The lid is to hard for a child to place on it themselves my 9 year old even has trouble,The dump truck pinches my sons fingers when he tries to pull the back of the truck up to dump the sand because it doesnt move up and down easy. The large crane is hard to turn after sand builds up under it and i have to brush sand away and turn the crane til it works easy again.

My 2 year old son loves this! Has been obsessed with the digger all day- we put coloured rocks instead of sand to keep it clean and indoors all year It’s nice because the kids don’t sit inside the sandbox but on the outside around it so they stay clean and it’s perfect for small spaces

Great for developing fine motor skills and for your little one that likes to dig year around. It is small enough to use inside with dried beans during the Fall, Winter, and/or rainy season. Little diggers want to play year around! My 4 year old son loves it!

I love that the sandbox has and excavator on it. My son loves excavators and that is his favorite part of the sandbox. At first it was really tough to move the bucket but now it moves really well and sometimes does not stay in one position because I think the white thing that clicks it into different positions broke on one side but it still works and he loves it. Its the perfect size. Not too big and not too small he can sit outside of it and play. It takes one bag of sand to fill and fits perfect in any size yard.

Birthday present for great nephew. Didn’t want anything huge and this turned out to be the perfect size. Ours is a rock box instead of a sandbox because sand is such a mess and our little one likes to dig in rocks. Great value. The screw provided to attach the scoop is wrapped in a piece of plastic and is about an 1”x1.5” so be careful not to discard anything before you attach it.
