These steaks were always fantastic for the price. Lately the steaks have been very tough. They must have changed the source. I wish they would go back to the old supplier.

Tender, juicy meat

I thought the flavor was okay but the steak was so tough. I cooked it medium to medium rare and it was difficult for me to chew. My father could not eat it. I was very disappointed being as that the are steaks were prime cut. I would not buy again.

These NY strip steaks are great. As with any fresh meat, do NOT use the order-online-and-pickup option. You want to SEE what meat cuts you're picking up! With that said, these are great prime strip steaks. They are nicely marbled (again, buy in person!), portioned sufficiently and just tastes great. You'll need to cook them them correctly though, to bring out their full potential. And as always, I always reverse sear. Start at 225° until internal temperature hits 115°, then crank up your grill to 600° and sear each side on a cast iron griddle for 90 seconds. Serve with homemade steak sauce, grilled asparagus and homemade mash potatoes. Add a nice cab on the side, like Educated Guess (also sold at Sam's) and you'll have a steak dinner that rivals your local prime steakhouse! Don't forget to extra-sear that outer strip of fat for a massive flavor bomb!
