Very disappointing after spending more money on these "Prime" strip steaks. They were very grainy and had many blood arteries running through them. They were chewy and poor taste in general. If Sam's had had the regular NY Strip steaks in stock- I would've bought those instead.

Paid the higher price for prime & chose the best pieces that were in the prime section (there wasn’t a lot to choose from) but the meat was more like a choice cut rather than prime; there was gristle and the meat was not tender — very disappointed because I served this to guests at a holiday party. I had hoped that if I cut off the gristle after cooking, the remaining meat would be tender but that wasn’t the case.

I spoke with a butcher at Sam's and ordered 6 one inch thick prime NY strip steaks. They were ready and trimmed with nice marbling when I picked them up. (Kudos to the butcher!) I cooked them per my routine method but found they lacked the flavor I have come to expect from a prime NY strip steak. Generally, I am very pleased with meat purchases from Sam's, but not this time. I was disappointed and embarrassed when I served them to my dinner guests.

I bought and cooked these steaks. Tough and had a weird taste. Didn’t return as I had to throw it away

I love these steaks but I would prefer them to be cut about a quarter inch thicker because I cook them in a cast iron skillet.

These strip steaks were ordered for delivery as a gift to me. I expected 2 steaks of prime quality a little less than or better yet, a pound each. What I received were steaks from closer to the small end; they have less marbling. One of the steaks has a fat cap that is thicker than a 1/4". By the time I trim that fat back it will be less than a 1/2 pound before being cooked. I have to wonder if they sent the small ones because they don't get bought by in store customers?
