These were the best New York steaks we have ever eaten. They were tender and juicy with a rich, beefy flavor. This time we purchased Sam's Angus USDA Choice steaks. I can only imagine how wonderful the Prime grade must be. We thought our favorite steaks were ribeyes, and we usually purchase Sam's Prime ribeyes. Now it is hard to say which cut is better: they are both extraordinarily delicious (better than the late lady's steakhouse chain that touts its Prime beef).

I bought a package of Prime strip steaks and a package of Choice strip steaks from Sam's. Neither was tender and the prime was less tender than the choice. I then purchased a couple of Choice strip steaks at my local discount grocery store for less than Sam's choice per pound price and they were tender as a babies butt.

We buy the choice strip steaks all the time and I have to says choice is WAY better. The prime is $3.00 more per pound but we thought we would splurge for July 4th. They were awful! We cooked all four steaks medium rare and they were difficult to cut. We all sat at the table chewing, chewing, chewing. I wondered how long I would have to chew before I felt comfortable trying to swallow.
