Too much fat

Horrible! Nothing but fat. We tried to do pulled pork in the crockpot which I’ve done many times and this piece of meat was the absolute worse. By the time most the fat cooked out it was tiny and not tender enough.

Tender and tasty

This one is very tender and flavory. I cut it into cubes and cook as stew meat or bbq skewers. Usually it's fresh and pink. Sometimes it could not be so fresh, I guess it depends on the day/time/bitcher.

Great for Clili

I cut this into one inch squares and use it to make my award winning chili. A couple pounds for a big crock. Better than using ground beef. It turns out real meaty and great!

Usually good, but BEWARE!!

I got home with a package that was punctured by something in store, before it got to me. There was a hole in the packaging and puncture in the meat by something and they sold it anyway!! It was wrapped in a plastic bag so I didn't see it. Check it before you leave the pickup area. I didn't pick it out, they gave it to me in pickup. So BEWARE!!

Loooong sloooow cook

I had this roast on low in a crock pot for almost 24 hrs. Seriously. It took that long to get it tender. But wow...it was worth it! Shredded it and then oven roasted it to make carne seca. Put another roast in my cart! Can't wait for the next round of yumminess!

Very good deal for a flavorful roast!

I have bought several of these roasts, and they have never disappointed. Since I am single, I cut them in half and put them in the freezer. I love beef sandwiches, so that is what I use them for. One roast lasts me a couple of months this way. I have seen a post of two that complained about the fat content, but I haven't seen a problem with it. There is usually little fat in the roast, but there is sometimes a nice layer of fat to one side. I just cook the roast in the crock pot (the fat adds flavor) and then shave it off before I make sandwiches. All in all, this is a great deal for a good roast!

Will buy again

We usually stick to ground beef, sirloin and chuck roast but I bought this on a whim and I’m glad I did. I cut in to large chunks and seasoned with SPG and seared on all sides then poured in one cup of broth and cooked at 300 for one hour. I was expecting tough, dry meat but meat was tasty and tender. And at $3.34 per lb it’s a steal!

Excellent cut of meat!

Purchased a 4 lb roast last weekend. Roasted it low and slow (225 F) for 3 hours (internal temp 125F), then did a reverse sear of the fat cap under the broiler for 8 minutes to give it a nice crispy brown crust. Let it cool at room temp for an hour, then wrapped tightly in plastic, then foil, and refrigerated it overnight. Next day, cut it into thin slices (for sandwiches) and oh my stars - this turned out to be the most tender and flavorful bottom round roast I have ever prepared. I make BRR the same way every time - so the difference has to be the beef itself. An affordable treat that will now be on our list of bi-weekly staples. Thank you Sam's club! Awesome cooked to medium rare

Don't let anyone fool you about cooking this roast into oblivion. Bake at 350°F for 15 to 18 minutes per pound uncovered and well salted. Slice after resting for 20 minutes or refrigerate overnight and Slice for sandwiches. Right out of the oven with Sam's hoagie rolls and au jus makes a fine french dip
