To echo many of the reviews here, we all want the old scent back. The first load that I washed with the new scent was unbearable and had to be rewashed. That was a few months ago and we sadly moved on to a new detergent. Tonight I pulled out some Christmas pajamas for my daughter and was hit with nostalgia and heartwarming feelings when I smelled that original Dreft smell. Those PJs have been in a drawer since last year and they still had that poignant smell. I don’t think I can bring myself to wash them. I got online to see if people felt the same way about the new scent, and lo and behold, they do. You know we all want that original scent back, so please find it in your heart to add some kindness to the dumpster fire that is 2020 and help some mamas out.

Leaves their clothes smelling fresh, new and soft to the touch. Our water is a bit on the hard side and this detergent still makes my kiddos clothes feel soft and smell great! No allergic reactions from my kids when it comes to this detergent, unlike other leading brands that have caused skin reactions.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Always trusted dreft as my detergent for my baby’s clothes and as always it never disappoints me, it’s doesn’t make the clothes looking dry and stiff, the scent is not to strong for me and the baby as well.. i even use it for the stuffed animals and her bed sheets..u don’t even need a fabric softener anymore. Baby never had an issue with any allergic reaction or other skin issues one might have from using the wrong detergent! Will always, ALWAYS buy Dreft for my little ones items.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used Dreft newborn laundry detergent since before my son was born. First, it is recommended by pediatricians which reassured that I was making a good choice. The Dreft has never caused a reaction from my son (which is nice because some of the products I have worn or used on my clothes have caused a reaction). I wash his laundry in Dreft and cold water and the clothes always come out clean! If it's a really bad stain I may add stain remover but for the most part it's not needed because the Dreft cleans the clothes thoroughly! Also, it smells good (it's not perfumed but it has a clean, natural scent). I would recommend Dreft to any new parent, it's safe and effective!

I was so excited to use Dreft for my son's baby clothes, but I noticed it always left a film of product on it. I would have to re wash it a few times too. I thought my washer was the issue, so I got a new washer and still ran into this issue. Other than that, it's great smelling.

I’ve been a long time Dreft user and when getting pregnant this time around I was so excited to pick up a bottle of the newborn phase. I didn’t even smell it first because I wanted to smell it on the freshly cleaned warm baby clothes....but when I was transferring laundry I nearly threw up from the harsh perfume like smell! I couldn’t believe it and actually cried from disappointment. I refuse to purchase anymore Dreft until the original scent is made available.

I started using it to wash all my baby's clothes before he was born and the experience was great, the clothes were clean, soft and with a subtle fragrance, I can say that he did a good job. I love the scent of Dreft. My baby is now 8 months old but I still use this detergent because we definitely recommend it for newborn clothes. It smells so good! When I first sent it to my baby's first batch of new clothes, my husband asked if we could use it on our clothes too and I think that's a fantastic idea. This is the only liquid detergent that I will use for my baby for a long time. I don't even need a fabric softener with this. It is very gentle on the skin. This liquid detergent soap for babies is good and, above all, very safe to use since its components are not aggressive. It has a light aroma that leaves clothes smelling heavenly! The clothes come out super soft and it's almost as if it were its own fabric softener... in short, it's a high-quality, very effective and safe detergent, which is why I have nothing negative to say about it.

I am in literal tears writing this review. I don't normally write reviews but this is making me emotional. I've been using Dreft for 3 years with my one and only son. My fertility battle was not easy and couldn't wait until I could purchase Dreft for a child of my own like so many Mamas before me. As he's into his toddler years now, I wasn't quite ready to let go of the wonderful baby smell his clothes had. I absolutely loved doing his laundry so much with the previous scented Dreft. I loved to breath in his clothes and I was folding them and putting them away. I just opened and used a new 150 fl oz. and did his laundry. I was caught off guard and horrified with the smell. It's absolutely awful and it ripped away all of my wonderful memories of doing his laundry. I wasn't prepared to let go of his baby smelling laundry just yet and now I'm being forced too, without warning. I feel robbed. I wasn't prepared to have to look for a new detergent for my son's clothes. I didn't know that my last load with my old bottle would be my last baby smelling load. I'm so saddened by this experience. The smell is so strong, it's stuck in the back of my mouth and I can taste it. I don't want a silly response about how so many parents "love" this disgusting new floral smell over the original scent. I don't want someone to reply trying to fake being empathetic to a mother's memory or struggle. Read the room... parents hate the new scent and can't afford to buy scent boosting additive in addition to another detergent just to see "if" it replicates the original version. Honestly, words can't express how incredibly heartbroken this makes me. The only thing that can fix this for me and, so many others, is to bring back the original scent or, at least, offer it as an option along side the new version. I was a loyal user and, unfortunately, will not be purchasing anymore of your products.
