While it is larger than expected, it wasn't really very good. The cake layers were extremely dry, the ganache topping was slathered on too thickly, and there was very little "mousse". Had there been more mousse, the dryness of the cake would have more tolerable. Most of it ended up going in the trash.

The reviews had me hyped for this cake, but while it was beautiful and perfectly moist, I confess I found it to be out of balance, flavorwise. The generous layer of whipped cream was no match for the unrelenting bittersweet chocolate flavor of the cake, ganache, and icing. I'll stick with tiramisu!

My mother in law bought this cake in the Saginaw store for Christmas. It was recommended by a man who was also looking thru the deserts. He said it was amazing. So she bought it and served it up for us. To say this cake is good would be a extreme under statement. This cake was the best cake of its type I’ve ever had. I wish I could find the guy who recommended this cake and give him a high five and a Atta boy!! Needless to say not all hero’s wear capes and this gentleman is the perfect example of this!! Just stop reading the reviews and go buy this cake.

Only time I ever see this cake in stores or bakeries is usually when I travel. Due to covid and not able to travel this year I was surprised and happy to see this cake at Sam's. It is a big 'bar' as they call it but it's THE WORST I've ever ate. Dry cake and the mousse is not even something I'd dare calling a mousse. The cake..correction 'bar' comes frozen to the store and they just thaw it out and you can tell that by the ice crystals and water laying in the bottom of the cake tray. If your someone who just loves chocolatey sweet things well this will be up your alley but if you want a true tuxedo cake go somewhere else for it.
