The buttercream frosting never forms a crust or gets firm. I am not sure what has changed with their cakes, but highly disappointed. The cake itself was much better than the tiered round cake I’ve purchased in the past. But the same problem again, with the quality of buttercream or lack there of.

I ordered 2 full sheet cakes and one half sheet cake. I called my order in and Alonga assisted me an assured the "Happy 70th Anniversary" script would be written beautifully! And it was!!! I had read some reviews on here about the writing on the cakes and was skeptical to order but Alonga told me she would take care of it and boy she did a great job! Thanks ALONGA! The color, script and flavor was great! Many compliments at the party! Mary

I want others to know this was the best cake I ever had. It was decorated just like I ordered it. Picked up at the right time. sure can't beat the price ! Very satisfied! This was at Sam's Club in Newport News ,VA. Every bite was eaten 😁

Very limited options

You used to be able to truly customize every aspect of these cakes but now you can’t, since corporate changed their policies. You have to choose from 1 of 3 color combos they provide. You are better off going somewhere else and getting the design and colors you really want.

I was going to order a cake at the store for a trunk party in about a month... the service is now online so I went into it to see how to upload a photo, etc... the options to be creative are NOT there... very disappointing and very limited options. I won't be ordering my cake from Sam's. 😣

Going to online ordering for a cake is a really bad idea. Difficult to navigate, not much customization available. One would think that ordering on line should give more options not just a couple of them that aren't very good. Glad I read the reviews before I ordered. Going to order from the local grocery store instead. Couldn't be any worse than what Sam's is offering - plus they don't close @ 8pm so I won't have to leave work early to get there in time.

The decorating and the custom message looked good, but like in real life, it’s not just about the looks. The cake is made with too much sugar and imitation vanilla which ends up giving it an almost caramel flavor when baking, but not in a good way. The chocolate or vanilla flavor of the marble sponge is overpowered because of this. The buttercream frosting is okay, however it is very thin and not whipped enough. The sugar shouldn’t feel gritty when chewing. So much for a Happy Birthday…….the overall experience was below mid!

Now that Sam's has gone to online cake orders, you have less options for cake customization. I've always looked to Sam's for great, affordable cakes, but I will have to look for another option to get the kind of decorations I want. I'm very disappointed.
