Reasonable price, best for breakfast

This is essentially a copy of a Blackstone 22 with front grease tray, the kind that Blackstone used to make. The front grease tray is so much more manageable on a tabletop griddle. For anyone wanting to use a standard 20lb propane tank with this griddle, you are best advised to use the included regulator, and use a hose that attaches the full size tank to the included regulator. Ignore any information posted to the contrary. This is a U.L. approved hose and is NOT specific to any application, but rather to the connection. Do not attempt to bypass the enclosed regulator, even though it appears that a Blackstone hose with regulator will fit. Just use the enclosed regulator. It’s approved and is safer. A 1 pound cylinder will last less than an hour. Figure 2 breakfasts or 1 dinner. They are useful at times, but prohibitively and unnecessarily expensive for regular use.

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. The 22" Tabletop Griddle is designed to be used with a 1lb propane tank only. Any attempt to connect a different regulator to any connections other than the included connector would void your warranty and could result in fires, explosions, injuries, or property damage. This griddle is NOT convertible to any other fuel source or LP cylinder size.

Great but flawed!

Seasoned as directed. Warping was visible at that time but I used it twice since with somewhat satisfactory results. Price ($100) and the front clean-out were the reasons that I bought Sam's rather than another Blackstone 22 (death by Hurricane) but I may return the MM22 as the domed middle is bothersome. Too bad as it is a great Griddle otherwise.

Great!

If you have never cooked on a griddle, it's a whole new world. This thing is great but some experience with cast iron pan cooking will help a lot. Follow the instructions for first use and seasoning. Always use some cooking spray or oil when you cook. This will do great for breakfast foods. Also for hotdogs and hamburgers and vegetables. Fish, shrimp, steak, shaved sandwich steak all awesome as well. Things not so good would be very thick cuts of meat, whole chickens, baked potatoes, ribs, brisket. Its not for low and slow cooking. You can get domes for for use on the griddle that will help with some foods. Get some griddle tools. Two spatulas, a scrapper and two squeeze bottles is a good start. One bottle for oil and the other for water. Water is your friend for easy cleaning. Give a squirt while its hot and just squeegee off the mess with your spatula. The manufacturer does not recommend using this with a 20lb tank. For informational purposes only, the slim brass fitting at the griddle is very common and the same as Blackstone and others. Also the common 20lbs to disposable adapter hoses mate fine with the supplied regulator. Some caveats with this griddle. It is sort of portable but heavy, 30lbs range. If you are carrying any great distance, its easier to remove the grill plate and carry separately from the base. No tools needed, it just sits on the base. There is no lid. You don't need a lid to cook but it works out good to cover as quickly as possible after you cook. The cook plate is a bug magnet as soon as you turn the heat off. Also if you plan to leave it outside full time, get one with a lid. The included vinyl cover is a nice looking dust cover but not waterproof at all. It has ventilation flaps and sewn seams so it leaks a lot. You can't use it until the griddle is clean and cool too. For now I use a flat leaf bag laid over the top with some magnets. If you choose this model be sure to have a plan if you are going to keep it outdoors. Get a different cover or keep it shielded from the rain. No matter how well its seasoned, water on the grill plate overnight will ruin the season and start to rust. This is a nice griddle but if you want a lid and a stand, look for a deal that includes these items rather than trying to figure it out later. I ended up buying something different because I really wanted the lid and stand but we decided to keep this one too for travel and bigger cook days when two griddles are needed. Its a very solid cooking device.

DONOT BUY. LOW FLAME AND SUPER HEAVY!

Since its rolled iron, it is extremely heavy and not really good use for camping. I have used the green Coleman propane tanks and i have used the hose to attach a regular propane tank and had 1 issue. I have one burner on high and its effective, when i turn on the second burner they are both on the high setting and the flame is extremely low and a small breeze turns it off. It only worked once with both burners on high only with the green tank and by the time i used it again it was past the 90 day return policy and now im stuck with this heavy useless griddle.

For heat issues on 1 side of your griddle, perform a burner flame check, to confirm the issue is isolated to 1 burner. Please note: Healthy flames have a flickers of yellow at the tops, then a dark blue color in the middle, followed by a vibrant blue by the burner tube. If the issue is isolated to 1 burner, please perform burner maintenance to both burners (page 24 in your manual). Note: Check burners to ensure that they are seated on the valves correctly. Should you require assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at the number on your manual, or by reaching out to Member Support at: (888) 301-0332 from 7am – 11pn CST Monday – Saturday and 10am – 8pm CST Sundays. Please have the item number from your receipt, the serial number, the product UPC and/or the product description ready to provide the Member Care Professional. Your feedback regarding the weight being too heavy (32lbs.) has been passed along.

Great Quality For The Price

If you're comfortable with cast iron cookware, you'll be fine. The rolled steel is very similar to cast iron, just maybe not as resilient as cast iron, which has more carbon. With this type of cookware, if you take care of it, it'll take care of you literally forever. Seasoning is the absolute key. Pro tip - the directions tell you to turn the burners on HI and add oil with a squirt bottle and spread around -- don't do that. My suggestion -- just coat it with the oil and pop it in a 425 degree oven, upside down, for an hour. The house will get smokey and your eyes will burn. But, that guarantees an even heat while seasoning for the very first time and not burning the oil by applying it to a 600 degree griddle which will stain it. After an hour you can do successive seasoning treatments on the burners. Directions say to do 5 rounds of seasoning. I think that's excessive. Lodge pre-seasons their cookware with one round of oil and heat. The real seasoning comes from using the griddle. It will only get better with time.

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. We are so happy to hear that you're enjoying the Member's Mark 22" Tabletop Griddle. We do not recommend seasoning your griddle top in your oven. If you find the recommended temperature of "HI" to be too much during seasoning, we recommend lowering the temperature on your grill, rather than moving the griddle top to your oven. (Especially upside down.) The required amount of oil in order to season the griddle top would pool and could cause a grease fire in your oven. Not to mention the smoke and burning eyes you experienced! Also, you mentioned seasoning the burners. NOTE: NEVER apply anything to the burners including oil, lighter fluid or anything else other than water for cleaning. The burners are the source of the flame and applying anything would be a fire/safety hazard! To Season the Griddle Top:1. Clean the griddle top with a damp cloth to remove any dust/dirt.2. Apply oil to the griddle top, sides and corners. Use a paper towel to coat surface thoroughly.3. Light the griddle and set control knobs to the “MAX” setting. (Adjust temperature as you see fit. Keep it hot enough to get the oil to a smoking point.) 4. Heat the oil to its smoke point. You will notice the griddle top changing color.5. When the oil stops smoking, repeat steps 2 to 4, about 5 times, until the griddle surface becomes dark. (Do not cool Griddle between seasoning steps.)You are absolutely correct regarding the seasoning bond improving over time. With continued use of your griddle, the seasoning bond will get better and better. However, we also recommend applying a coating of oil at the start and finish of each cook, to help maintain seasoning. Never use soap to clean the griddle, this will destroy the seasoning. Never pour cold water on surface, as this can cause the surface to warp.Hope this helps!

Perfect grill for taigating.

Perfect for tailgating and camping. Like that is is a flat top griddle. can cook variety of foods without worrying about food falling through grates. Grease trap works great. Love that it is easily cleaned because it is a drawer in the front of the griddle and not a pan hanging on the bottom.

good griddle if you tweak it a bit

this is a decent grill for this type at a great no-name-brand price but some important notes: 1. it comes coated with some 'oil' that stains everything black. scrub this off. you don't want it on your food. take it outside with a good scouring pad and some soap and hose it and scrub it off until the griddle is completely gone. 2. 'season' the griddle like you would a cast iron pan. lightly coat it with oil. turn the burners on high for 30 minutes or so. turn it off and let them cool off. repeat 5-7 times. if the griddle feels sticky after it cools off, burn it again without applying oil. because of the uneven heating it might take a bit. alternative, fit the griddle in your oven and season it in there. oil on top surface only! only clean it with water from now on, no soap! 3. get a 1lb to 20lb tank conversion hose. ideally one with a 6' or longer hose. this griddle will devour those 1lb tanks. a 20lb tank is more economical and less waste. 4. only use wooden or silicone tools on the surface, metal will scrape off your seasoning. 5. a hand-held IR thermometer can be useful for checking temperature. mine hits just over 600 over the burners, but 250-300 in the far corners on high after 15 minutes. easily make breakfast on this, grill burgers, it actually makes good hand made pizzas if you tent foil over the top and watch carefully, i heat it up medium-high for 20 minutes, slide a 12" or so pizza on with a wooden peel, watch until it's done and pull it off. great camping or tailgating!

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. There are a couple of things you mentioned that I wanted to go over:The Members Mark Griddle is pre-treated with soy oil as a protective coating following manufacturing. This coating may leave a discoloration on the griddle top. This is normal and will not affect the seasoning process. Before using your griddle for the first time, complete a burn-off. Start the griddle and operate for 15 minutes on HI. This will “heat clean” the internal components, griddle surface, dissipate odors and rid the surface of any foreign matter. Then simply follow the seasoning instructions in your manual. The 22" Tabletop Griddle is designed to be used with a 1lb propane tank only. Any attempt to connect a different regulator to any connections other than the included connector would void your warranty and could result in fires, explosions, injuries, or property damage. This griddle is NOT convertible to any other fuel source or LP cylinder size.Thank you for your tips about making pizza, that sounds delicious! Happy grilling.
