Cooking surface contains LEAD!

Was excited to fire this up then I saw the huge LEAD warning on the second page. It's made of cold rolled steel which is made with lead. Should have been cast iron. Lead should never be used in materials to cook food, it's such a poor decision. Otherwise looks like it could have been a great griddle but now it's going back.

Thank you for taking time to reach out with your concerns. Lead is not a component of our Hot Rolled Steel griddle surface. The components with brass and PCBs, such as the orifice of a valve (in manifold assembly), regulator (internal parts), contain a low amount of lead. We are required by California law to include the Lead warning for any cooking appliance that contains Lead in any of it's parts. Regardless of if they come in direct contact with the food. In this case the parts containing lead are internal. Hope that helps and eases your concern!

Well worth the money.

I wanted to buy a flat top griddle, but didn't want to spend $200 for one. I am used to cooking on cast iron and carbon steel skillets. I bought this to use on a camping trip. Before buying, I watched a lot of YouTube videos on Cooking on griddles. I seasoned it before leaving and did a practice run. I made a Philly Cheese sandwich, because it looked pretty easy. It came out great. I cooked 2 meals a day on it. I surprised myself at how easy it was. The griddle performed well, and cleanup was easy. I have no negative things to say about it. The only thing I would like to do is find the adaptor to add a full sized propane tank. It is well worth the price. Glad I didn't spend over $200 for a Blackstone.

Well-made grill with one MAJOR flaw.

It makes no sense that people can design a quality item like this but make it with a major flaw that is not easily fixable. Why would you make this grill to be only used with the small 16 oz Propane Camping Gas Cylinders? And they don't give you any adapters to connect to the big tanks. I tried to remove the existing fitting, so I can rig something with parts from Home Depot. Unfortunately the fitting was put on so tight that the manifold was damaged in the process. This is really sad. This is a really nice, almost professional quality griddle. But I definitely Do Not recommend it until they come up with a fix that would allow for connection to different size propane cylinders. I am so disappointed, because I really liked this griddle.

Your feedback regarding the need for an adapter has been passed along.The 22" Tabletop Griddle is designed to be used with a 1lb/16 0z. propane tank only. Any attempt to connect a different regulator to any connections other than the included connector would void your warranty and could result in fires, explosions, injuries, or property damage. This griddle is NOT convertible to any other fuel source (such a natural gas) or LP cylinder size. With that in mind, we are always looking for feedback for future models. Your suggestion is valued.

Wow what a horrible experience

Excited to start griddling. Followed instructions to the letter. Okay black stuff bubbling up. Okay maybe I didn’t oil it properly. One more time. Hmm black goo now. Ok let me try again (3rd time). No luck actually blackish goo on food now. I didn’t mind the griddle itself slightly off but unable to use. I would love to add pics but iPhone app won’t allow

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. We’re sorry to hear that the seasoning process didn’t go smoothly. When you find the seasoning is turning into a “goo” rather than a coating, either too much oil was used when seasoning the griddle, or the heat was too low or turned off too soon, which did not allow the oil to fully burn off. Good news is, there is an easy fix. Just turn your griddle on to “MAX” and let it heat for 10-15 minutes. Then scrape as much of the remaining thickened and partially cooked oil as you can into the grease trap and empty. If your Griddle top is not achieving high enough temperatures to burn off the oil, you may have activated the flow limiting feature in the regulator which would require a regulator reset.The regulator's flow limiting device is a safety system can be reset by turning the burner knobs to the “OFF” position and disconnecting the propane cylinder from the regulator. Wait five minutes to allow the pressure to dissipate. Ensure control knobs are still in the “OFF” position before reconnecting the propane cylinder to the regulator. If this doesn’t solve the issue, perform a leak test.
