Only works for certain cars.

I think these tires works best for certain cars like BMW the E90 3-series, etc. I guess the auto and tire manufacture develops and tests the suspension together with this product. I had the Bridge Stones OEM Run Flat when I first got my BMW back in 06. They are trash after driven only for about 20,000miles, worn out almost, super noisy, feel like I was riding on rims only. Comparably, these Conti provide overall better handling, comfort, less road noise, regardless they are new or driven over 40,000miles. The tread wear is better than many other recommend OEM tires for BMWs with better pricing too. Traction is okay even for rainy days, and occasional trip on snow during the winters. That said, it may not be a good choice for other cars, say Honda Odyssey. They also required Run Flats, but may work better with other brands vice-versa, like those Bridge Stones.

Cannot understand the bad reviews I've seen!

I bought a Ford Fusion in 2009 with these tires and 've just hit 88000 miles and still have not hit the tread markers. I'm heading out on another long road trip and will replace the tires just because its time. I could probably get through the fall wth the tread they have, but no need to take a risk when heading out of town. These tires have been great. Very good in rain and snow, no issue with excessive road noise and they have lasted longer than I ever expected. The negative reviews I've read here just blow my mind...how could the same tires impact people so differently. for my money these tires have been great!

118,000 miles on factory tires

I bought a 2017 vw passat with 235/40 r 19 conti procontacts. I now have 118,000 miles on the car with 3 of the original tires. I hit a giant pot hole and blew one out. But I also hit a piece of concrete with another wheel and it cracked the rim and did not do any damage to tire inside or out. I can probably get another 20,000 miles out of these tires but I might change before winter gets here. Plan on buying another set.

Outperforms all others in its class!

My everyday style of driving is likened to that of a race driver. I have driven on these tires all the while testing them to their limits on dry speed, handling and braking, and wet speed, handling and braking with Superb Results! I don't go anywhere without my ContiProContact tires and I leave all casual drivers, commuters, speedsters and long haul drivers in the zig-zaggety-zag-zag-ziggety dust. ContiProContact: Trust no others! Hailing from the south eastern U.S., ah-ha-ha-ha.

Replaced OEM Tires on 2005 MINI with ContiProContact SSR Run

I replaced the OEM Goodyear Run-flats on my 2005 MINI Cooper with these tires. They are run-flats, so by their nature they have a "stiff" ride, especially on a vehicle like a MINI Cooper. I have approx. 5000 miles on them, and so far I am satisfied with their performance, both in wet and dry conditions. I haven't driven in any ice/snow, so I can't make any judgments about their performance in that environment. They do appear to be somewhat quieter than the Goodyears they replaced. With only 5000 miles, its too early to make a judgment on tread-wear as well. I was able to get 50,000 miles out of the Goodyears (I am NOT an aggressive driver), and I am hoping to get just as much out of these.

Bimmer 328i Driver

I purchased this set of run-flat ContiPro Contact tires, as the OEM replacement for my '08 BMW 328i Sedan. The original set achieved 49K miles, which I thought was amazing. I drive mostly highway miles, with the remainder being local, in-traffic, fairly aggressive miles. However, this replacement set shows significantly more wear (at wear bar), at the 21K mile point. I feel like the useable tread life will likely run out, well before the 49K "bar" that had been set by the originals. The performance of the tire is better than average, with very good wet/ dry traction. Icy roads obviously offer a substantially greater challenge, leaving the tires as "so-so" performers. Braking distance is excellent on dry roads, and very good on wet. The performance, however, could also be greatly attributed to this car, in particular. Road noise levels are ok, but should/ could be better. I would not say that it's obnoxious, but I have had much better results from a non-run-flat tire.

These tires just don't last

Quite honestly I am baffled by the reviews of people saying they are getting 70-80k out of these tires. They came OEM on my Mercedes and I am replacing them this weekend at 21k like many of the other posters. I came to this site to see what they were rated for because I was surprised to be replacing them so early. I live in Southern California, so no real conditions that would cause premature tire loss and I am not one to drive this car hard. Mercedes does rotate tires as part of their service, but the service interval is every 10k miles which is probably why Continental asks for rotation every 6k miles. Oh well, won't waste money on another set.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Please keep in mind that although the basic service internal is 10,000 miles, the vehicle manufacture recommends rotating tires every 3,000 - 6,000 miles for all tires supplied as original equipment. If you have any question, please feel free to contact our office at continentaltire@custhelp.com.

I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS TIRE!

These tires are HORRIBLE!!! I have a 300 Mercedes Benz and the dealer in Pittsburgh pa Rahal is always telling me my tires need replaced every 50,000 miles, I've replaced these tires it seems like once a yr. Now I cant and will not stand in good ratings for these tires! I really think the manufacture and the dealers are in cahoots together!!!

Thank you for providing feedback about our tires. Please keep in mind that the tread wear warranty is 40,000 - 60,000 miles depending on the speed rating of your tires. If you are averaging 50,000 miles, this is in line with the product warranty. As for recommendations on replacement, the tires do not need replacement until they reach 2/32" of tread remaining. However, your service department may recommend replacement at 4/32" if your area has severe winter conditions.

DAYS of whine and noises.

2012 Ford Focus SE. These tires came as OME. The car is very quiet except for the tires. Around 20 mph they start to whine and by 50 mph they are the noisiest part of the car. As far as other noises, if you start out from a dead stop with any kind of steering angle, you get a nice chirp from one of the tires if you start out at any speed than a dead crawl. Come winter I will have these pulled off the rims and will put on real snow tires. these I will sell and come spring will get tires designed for summer traction. that should get rid of the chirps. And I will research for tires that do not whine.

Garbage Tires

These tires came on my 2012 Hyundai Elantra. I've owned the car for 17 months and have 13,300 miles on the car. I baby my vehicle, tires rotated as they should be. I had it in for the next tire rotation two days ago when the dealer tells me they need replaced NOW before we get any snow (I live in southwest PA). Tires are all worn evenly, but ANY tire should last more than 13,000 miles - oh wait, he said I MIGHT get another 1,000 -3,000 on them. I didn't have any problems with these tires, but I certainly would never buy them after this experience - and I'll be sure to check if they're stock on the next car I buy. It WILL make a difference in what I purchase next!
