ContiProContact's are Amazing tires

These tires came on my '13 VW CC 4Motion Exec car. I have had them for nearly 4 years. Unbelievable tires. I don't understand the bad reviews either. I have driven some of the best AWD cars, Audi A4, Audi A6 Allroad, VW Passat 4Motion, and a VW Touareg. All had Quattro or 4Motion. All with H rated M+S tires, either from Pirelli or Michelin. These are my first ContiProContacts. These tires are hands down the best tires on any pavement condition, dry/wet/snow/or ice. I am able to drive fast with serious control in all conditions. The people that complain about these tires, it just might be the car, the driver, or the need for an alignment or the PSI, because is not the tires. I live in Colorado and we frequently get snow, ice, hail, and/or boatloads of rain. And possibly all on the same day! Couple that with wind that exceeds 75MPH. The siping that comes on these tires simply rocks. I never slip. I am very confident behind the wheel. One time I even climbed out of a mountain pass covered in a sheet of ice. I drove up it like it was dry. I was there for a conference, so we were all leaving at roughly the same time. The overnight snow became a snowpacked sheet of ice by the time I left. No problem for me. I could stop, start, stop, start, never a slip. Drove around them all, going slow or fast or slow, didn't matter. I went back to help push all kinds of four wheel drive and front wheel drive cars up the hill so they could simply get out. And that was really hard, because we could barely stand on the ice. I felt way safer in the car! If you live or have to drive in inclement weather, these tires on any Audi/VW product with AWD and these ContiProContacts is a very wise choice!!

Great tire for my Abarth!

I purchased my 2013 Abarth in February of this year with 52K miles on it and the tires looked relatively new then, and now approaching 63K miles they still look new and have tons of tread left! This is the first car I have had with Continentals on it, and am duly impressed with the ContiPro's performance, grip and wearability. I have always had the roundy French guy's tires, and swore by them, but these ContiPro's are making me re-think that choice. My bitter-half's 2013 Abarth has had a set of his tires on it for 13K miles, and they are ready to be replaced. I think I know what the replacements will be! Good job Continental!

Outstanding Tires

Original Equipment Tire 215/55 R17 94H for our brand new 2012 VW Passat SE 2.5, pushing 60k miles now. Quiet, great traction in heavy snow, hot dry pavement and pouring rain. Great high speed performance 80+ mph on midwest interstates for hundreds of miles at a time. Just rotate them and keep the alignment checked. Like them so much I bought a set in 225/50 R17 98V for my 06 BMW 530xit. Now the BMW rides and drives like new. I have a very high level of confidence in this tire and I'm going to put a new set of the OEM's right back on the Passat. Great Job Continental and keep up the good work. Thanks Ted M.

Awesome traction when new

Rotated every 10,000 miles (Every oil change for this baby SUV) and the tires wore perfectly evenly. Car currently has 55K miles on it and tires are down to the wear bars. Absolutely awesome traction when new, we drove our Escape down an unplowed road in rural Wisconsin a few winters ago. Snow was higher than the front bumper of the car, and we were throwing it over the windshield at 30-45 MPH. When everything thawed out, we took the Escape down a "minimum maintenance road" in rural Minnesota - and fell through the mud. The muck was up to the axles of the little SUV, but it still managed to pull its way out of the mess with a minimum of fuss (Which went on for a good 2 miles). Note if you try this stunt, be sure to hose out the wheels - parts of the wheels were actually underground for a bit, so they got jammed full of mud and everything shook due to unbalancing the wheels from all the mud and gunk jammed on the inside of the wheel

Noisy

Bought four of these as they were the OEM tire on my 2014 BMW 328 and the first set wore well and performed well. So far (8,000 miles), the wear is good and the road handling is great just like the originals. However, with this set there is a very loud road hum at about 72 mph, that wasn't there on the original set. Will likely go with a different tire for my next set.

OK for factory tires

These were the factory tires on my 2012 Subaru Outback. I live in WI and have had these tires since I bought the car. I drive about 65 miles/day round trip and they are fairly quiet. They handle nicely in the snow, sleet, ice and rain. I was told that the all-wheel drive feature creates an uneven wear pattern. Nonetheless, I am at 55,200 miles and need to replace them. The tread in the center of the tire is good, but the outer aspect is poor. Not sure if this is the tire, the all wheel drive or an alignment/balance issue. (In defense of the tire manufacturer, I didn't rotate them like I should have.) I have averaged about 28-31 mpg on the highway with these with winter being the lower & summer being the higher.

Tread Life is an Issue

I had these tires mounted on a 2004 Mercedes C240 (really small 4 door sedan). Tires have a 60K mile rating........r u kidding me ? These tires will need to be replaced at 25K and will not make it much past that point. I do not recommend these tires for area where you need snow traction

Thank you for taking the time to preview our tires. If the tires are evenly worn down to 2/32" of tread remaining, with proof of tire rotation every 6,000 miles, the local dealer will be able to process a warranty exchange. Please keep in mind that the treadwear warranty is not a rating of tire life; it is just the terms of the product warranty. Real-world treadwear will vary based on local road conditions, vehicle maintenance and driving habits.

I would give this tire negative if I could

This tire didn't even survive 1 year in my Audi A4 Prestige. What a joke and their warranty is also a joke. I would not recommend anyone getting this tires. Even after spending money and still have to go put a new tire doesn't make any sense. I AM DONE!

Big O private label brand not as good!

I noticed some unusual wear on my tires after < 5,000 miles. When I took it back to Big O I found out that these tires are private label for only Big O locations. It looks like it is not the same quality. It looks like these are a cheap version to hit a price point! Very disappointed. Would not buy Continental or shop at Big O again.

Mileage not good

I worked in the tire business for 19 yrs, never have I come across an issue with Continental tires. The ContiPro came on my 2017 Chevy Trax I have 7,607 miles on this vehicle and have maintained all services and rotations and less than 4/32nd left on the tires,, I would like to know what I could have done differently, as I am accustom to closer to 18,000 to 30,000 miles on the average tire. per Ron DiCriscio 2/14/2019

There are many factors that contribute to the wear of the tires. Because driving habits and conditions vary it is impossible to predict the exact life of your tires. We can only speculate that if they where properly rotated and maintained, they likely achieved the mileage that they were designed to last based on the characteristics that vehicle manufacturer required of the tire. Although treadwear is not covered under the new vehicle tire warranty, if the tires are evenly worn down to 2/32"-4/32" of tread remaining, with proof of tire rotation every 6,000 miles, we can assist you outside the terms of the warranty. The dealer will need to contact our office with their inspection Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM Est. at 800-847-3349.
