used to be good

I am giving this fish two stars because it used to be very good. The last box I got however it was absolutely awful. I don’t know if they used fish parts but every piece of fish in the last box could only be described as grizzly, you could not even chew through it. I will never buy this fish again.

Great Product!

My family loved these. I baked them per the instructions and they came out tasting as if they’d been fried. I served with fries for a fish and chips dinner. My husband and I already discussed other things we can do with these filets, like fish sandwiches or fish tacos. These will be a staple in our freezer!

I like to bake my fish. At first this fish would stick to my cookie sheet, or alu. foil. I even oiled the sheet, or foil only to need to chisel the fish loose and destroying the cod. I invested in a modern cookie sheet and the fish glides free when baked.

Better Than National Brands

Clearly much better than the nationally advertised brands, that have more breading than fish. On these the batter isn't overwhelming where all you taste is the batter/breading. The fish is white and flaky, clearly much better than the nationally advertised brands.

Terrible‼️

Purchased yesterday and threw away yesterday! Why: Gummy (some portions) , Unlikable smell, Greasy, overall inedible. This is my personal experience. What hurts the most is having to through it away and wasting $12.78… Other Members Mark products are Excellent!

Don't buy this brand!

I don't see how this fish has a 4.4 star rating unless we just got a horrible batch! I purchased this last Friday and we cooked 6 pieces of it last night! Out of the three (3) pieces I tried to eat and the three (3) pieces my husband tried to eat, we were able to consume about 1/2 a piece between the two of us. The breading/batter has a very good flavor and the only thing edible about this fish! The fish itself is gummy mostly with a few places looking like it is flaky pieces of fish with a horrid taste. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY LIKE WE DID!

Changed Product

These used to be great! The batter is changed and is very greasy no matter how you cook them. We used to deep fry these and they were wonderful! The batter is hard and ends up burning if you don't want to eat raw fish. Very unattractive if you're serving it to the public.

quality seems to have changed for worse

bought these a couple months ago and found some of the fillets to contain tough fish. Not sure how you get "tough" fish but these have some parts that do not cook up well even after 4 to 5 mins. in the deep fryer. the parts that are tough consist of a dark strip in the fish meat and are not chewable. Really thinking they may not actually be cod. Maybe some other species was mixed in. Had good results with these in times past but not sure we want to continue to try with the recent results.

Enjoyed

We bought our first box last month and enjoyed every bite. Simple cooking instructions and came out of the oven perfect. Awesome beer batter!! The batter was crispy and the fish was flaky. On our second box and now a regular item on our family menu..

Great batter good tasting fish

I deep fried these. First batch I fried at 350°F... They were very brown, the insides were maybe 135°F. Second batch I cooked at 335°F for 3 minutes and pulled them out and then set the oil to 350°F.... Much better doing the double fry, just as crispy but the fish was hot and yummy
