Gate was hard to install because of floor molding in our house. We almost returned it to the store but we figured out a way to get it installed on top of the molding. Once installed it has been a great gate to keep my triplets from getting in the kitchen. I would buy it again, as the Regalo gates have proven to be a great value and have solid construction.

I found this product a little difficult to set up. It is hard to make the pressure mount work perfectly for the top of our stairs. Then, we had to figure out for ourselves that you have to remove a screw for the latch to work correctly. It seems pretty sturdy - at least for our toddling 14 month-old but not exactly the quality of product I thought I was buying. AT least it will prevent him from falling down the stairs - I hope!

Love the ability to add the extension

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this gate for my infant’s bedroom. It comes needing to put together, which looks more complicated than it is. I love how it comes with an extension piece so you can use the gate in multiple sized spaces. The gate does not need to be screwed into the wall, which is important to me because I don’t want to cause permanent damage to the walls. It did take a few tries to make sure it was completely sturdy and screwed in; the baby knocked it over after the first initial screw in. (So make sure it’s sturdy!) The locking mechanism on the top of the gate seems to get stuck sometimes. This makes it hard for me to even open it. Over all, the baby gate gets the job done but I wish the gate was easier to open and close.

GREAT ITEM FOR THE PRICE!

I purchased this gate for my puppie to keep him in the kitchen when he is eating (he likes to take food into my living room & eat it on the rug ugggg!) anyway I got it and was frustrated because I to do some assembly (Me & Manual Labor dont get along). To my amazement it was super easy and took me only 10 minutes to set it up! As long as you actually read the instructions assembly is really not complicated at all. I did not screw it into the walls because i did not want holes and it is only to confine a 6 lb Yorkie. Well, the gate does exactly what it suppose to do and it actually looks good. it is very sturdy and I love the fact that i dont have to step over the gate as I had to do with the previous gate i had or either keep removing it and putting it back up which is very annoying. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because although its great that i dont have to keep taking it down, putting it up or stepping over it is the gate has a bar at the bottom that sits on the floor and in the middle of the night i was half sleep and went to use the bathroom and forgot about the bar and tripped over it. And i have a feeling that wont be the only time that will happen to myself or house guest. other then that the gate is great. specially for the price. I would definately recommend it but warn you about the late night potty trips LOL!

Good price, easy to install, and easy to use.

I recently installed two of these gates to keep our small dogs confined to one area of our house. They were easy to install, very easy to use, and they are well made and durable. The parts included for non-permanent attachment to our doorway hold the gate tight while not damaging the trim. We have three children ranging in age from 4 to 11 and they are able to operate the latch with ease and walk through the gate rather than trying to climb over it like gates we have used in the past. The price was very reasonable too. Highly recommended.

great for top of stairs!

good sturdy metal gate, I ended up screwing it in but only cause my wall is a bit uneven, the pressure mounst are very sturdy. The mounts need to be tighented properly else the latch does not work, which is great as it makes you install it properly. The gate opens only one way ( which is good), not both ways, as some reviews indicate. The gate can be left open if needed. It has 2 closeing mehcinaisms: one for just securing it, which my 3 year old can do. and another for child proofing it in additio, this my 3 year old cannot do, so it works out great for me. my 1 year old has not been able to budge it. great price too!

Works great as a dog gate

Putting this pressure-gate together was not as simple as it might seem, but it can be done fairly easily IF you read the instructions carefully instead of wasting time by trying to install it without reading the manufacturer's tips and how-to. Once installed, this is an excellent gate. It's sturdy, attractive, and will not budge from the door jamb. We use it to keep our dogs out of certain rooms. It closes nicely with one hand, and it need not be locked for use with our pets. When open, the gateway is fairly narrow, but so far that hasn't been an issue. This gate is an excellent value compared to others I priced on the web. The gate is a standard doorway size out of the box, and an extension piece is included for use with wider doorways.

A tip for fitting into 36 inch spaces

For the people that can't fit it into a 36 inch space here is how to do it, you take the adjusting knobs off on one side only then put the screws in and then add the short extension, this way it is in tight with no room on the sides you just adjust it from 1 side and is very sturdy. I hope I explained that clearly lol

LOVE IT!!!!!!

I researched several gates before finally settling on this one, and I am so happy I did. My 4 year old can open it with ease, but my younger children can't, and won't get their fingers pinched in it when my 4 year old closes it. I used the site to store feature, and it was easy and quick. Highly recommend this gate to anyone.

love it

This gate is great and very easy to install. I use it for my stairs to keep my 1 year old from climbing up. I love that it is a tension gate and I didn't have to screw anything into the wall. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that the walkthrough doorway is pretty narrow, I wish it was a little bit wider. I will be purchasing another one soon for a doorway.
