A Great Gate

I looked at many other similar gates, and for the money, this one is just right. It sets up quick and has an extension if you need it. I only set mine up with the tension and never used the enclosed caps which can be screwed into the door jam to make it more secure. I have 5 of these throughout my house and only one of the locks has become difficult to release lately. Overall, I have been very pleased with this product and would reccomend it.

Perfect for small dogs

I had the low priced wood with platic mesh gates that worked well, but I had to hop over them, adn sometimes that can be a hazzard. THe dogs would chew oon there, too and I would have to replace them. This gate is sturdy metal and has an easy to operate gate. It is also low enough for my cats to jump over, but not my small dogs. Great gate and inexpensive.

Works for us

We use this in our entrance to the living room as well as in the other bigger kids bedroom doorway to keep the baby out. They came with the option to either screw them into the doorframe or pressure mount it. We have it pressure mounted since our landlord won’t let us screw anything in. It was definitely easy to install. And is working great. The only negative thing I have about it is that kids will be kids and it doesn’t tend to slide out of the door frame if the bigger kids aren’t careful when opening and closing the gate. But it does take a lot to get it to come out. My 4 year old is the main culprit and likes to wiggle the gate. All in all I’m really satisfied with this product and hope that one day we can actually screw them in.

Easy installation

This is an amazing product. I plan to buy another for another door. I put it up in less than 15 minutes even with my little one helping. It is very sturdy and easy to use. It appears there is a gap between the door and frame but that disappears when you tighening the ends upon installation. I HIGHLY recommend this product.

Lifesaver, and amazing dog gate!

I can't attest for children, but this is the perfect gate for dogs. It includes hardware that can be screwed into the door frame to keep the gate secure, but it isn't necessary to keep the gate in place. Our dogs don't jump up on it, and from regular use of opening and closing, the gate keeps a tight grip on the door frame without the use of the screw-in hardware. Installation was a breeze. At first we thought the gate was defective, but the metal bends into place once the gate is secure. The gate has a lock feature which requires two hands to open. But it stays closed and secured even without locking it, so with frequent use, you can still keep your pets out and only use one hand to open and close the gate. It takes some time getting used to, but that's to be expected. Shipping only took 3 days after the order was placed. I would absolutely recommend this to a friend. You can't beat the price for such a great product.

Love it!

I am very impressed with this product. I was worried that it would not me my expectations because it was so cheap. Well it meets all my expectations. So much easier than the other gate we were using. Our four pit bulls have not been able to knock it down or destroy it. Love it.

Great Buy

I bought this gate when we got a new dog. I wanted something that I could put at the bottom of my stairs without putting wholes in anything. Our dog is very small so I needed her not to beable to get threw it. It was great I could put it between the banisters with no problem and the dog cant get threw it. The handle to get it open and closed is very easy to use even my 3 year old uses it. (you can however lock it if you dont want kids to get it open) Overall opinion I was very happy with this product.

Nice gate, great price!

We have 3 of these gates and they work well to keep our Chihuahuas in certain areas of the house. The locking mechanism worked for a while to keep our 2 year old in certain areas, but it didn't take him long to figure out how to unlock and open the gate.

A passable gate

This gate (with the extension) fits a 40 inch opening. The opening I'm using this in is just a hair bigger than that so if an adult puts weight on it, the top will slide slowly. My 18 lb son grabs it and pulls back and forth with no movement. I have it pressure mounted. The gate comes with the extension to make it 40 inches. The opening device is much to complicated for my 9 1/2 month old son to figure out, but easy enough for my 6 year old niece to use without issue. It would have been nice if it went both ways, but I knew it only opened in one direction and bought it anyways. It opens in a way that it would be a feat to smash any little fingers that aren't placed directly into the opening device, which is far more important to me than opening both ways. The door stays open until you close it. Overall, the gate works well and I am satisfied with the purchase.

Easy to assemble, sturdy, and worth the price

I have bought two of these gates to cordon off some rooms from my active puppy and they are the best investment I have made in a while. I have an old plastic baby gate that I paid twice the price and it has to screw into the wall which I didn't want to do this time because they are going to be temporary. This gate is great because you don't have to screw anything into the wall if you don't want to and they are sturdy enough to resist the pushing of a 15lb puppy jumping up on them. I would highly recommend this gate to anyone who wants a quality product.
