In general I like Regalo gates. They tend to be good quality. MEASUREMENT WARNING, though: I bought this gate for a 36" opening. The description says that it fits up to 39"...but this is with the extension. Without the extension this gate is really only effective for openings probably closer to 33". To fit my 36" opening the tension rods had to be extended out too far to build proper tension. They often pop out of the gate or get unaligned making the gate pop open. I've had to completely readjust the gate several times. I plan to move this gate to a smaller opening and get a different gate to replace it.

Hi, I got the gate yesterday to keep my two year old out of the kitchen. Pros: The gate is easy to put up, very sturdy, and I don't think he will figure out how to unlock it for awhile. Cons: the opening to walk thru is a little narrow and the bar at the bottom has caused some family member's to trip because they had forgot it was there. Also, I would say it is for ages 0-3yrs old depending on the child. After watching us a couple of times my 4yr old niece has figured out how to unlock it. Also my two year can open it if its not locked completely. So to insure that your little one will not get in or out make sure you hear the "click" to know that its locked. Overall good gate but it has only been 24hrs.

This is the second time I have bought this very same gate and model number. The difference in quality is terrible the new gate has a smaller locking mechanism that requires a second lock on the bottom that is awkward to use. Trouble is I needed the gate immediately and returning it was not an option for me. I am not happy about this and will not purchase again! I recently installed two of these gates to keep our small dogs confined to one area of our house. They were easy to install, very easy to use, and they are well made and durable. The parts included for non-permanent attachment to our doorway hold the gate tight while not damaging the trim. We have three children ranging in age from 4 to 11 and they are able to operate the latch with ease and walk through the gate rather than trying to climb over it like gates we have used in the past. The price was very reasonable too. Highly recommended.

really like the gate it works good and keeps the kids in...when I got the gate I seen sme1 say that it fits 28' and I get the gate in the ail and it didnt fit so I had to jimmy rig it and it still works well evn though you have to have pressure for the gate lock t work..

We purchased this model several years ago to keep the pets out of the living room. We like that we keep it up and not have to take it down for us to cross over to the kitchen, due to the swinging door. I am thinking of getting another one to have down in the TV room when we don't want the dogs down there at times. The only thing getting used to is stepping over the bottom, but it will just come naturally once you are used to it. Recommend purchase - for the price.

I can't attest for children, but this is the perfect gate for dogs. It includes hardware that can be screwed into the door frame to keep the gate secure, but it isn't necessary to keep the gate in place. Our dogs don't jump up on it, and from regular use of opening and closing, the gate keeps a tight grip on the door frame without the use of the screw-in hardware. Installation was a breeze. At first we thought the gate was defective, but the metal bends into place once the gate is secure. The gate has a lock feature which requires two hands to open. But it stays closed and secured even without locking it, so with frequent use, you can still keep your pets out and only use one hand to open and close the gate. It takes some time getting used to, but that's to be expected. Shipping only took 3 days after the order was placed. I would absolutely recommend this to a friend. You can't beat the price for such a great product.

This was our third attempt at a top-of and bottom-of stairs baby gate. This gate rocks. So very easy to install, sturdy, not at all cumbersome, easy enough for my preschooler to open, but too difficult for my 13 month old to open- perfect. The gate door swings open nicely...this is a rave-worthy gate. Great, great buy.

After shopping around for a baby gate, and returning one to Babies R Us, I was shocked at the price of this walk through gate. I read the reviews saying the quality didn't meet some expectations, and 1 review said it didn't fit a 36 inch doorway, which I needed. I ordered 2 of these gates anyway and thought I'd try my luck. The gate fit just fine in my 36 inch doorway. As you're shopping and reading descriptions, make sure you look for the measurement you need. We definitely needed the extension that came with this gate. Features I like: The option of only pressure mounting the gate, no drilling or tools needed. The walk through feature - the door can be left open when baby is sleeping. The safety lock (which takes more time when opening or closing# doesn't have to be used. THE PRICE The welding isn't perfect #one complaint I read#, but there are certainly no sharp edges as described. *When you install the gate, make sure you put the bottom of the gate on the ground. We had to adjust ours because there was a slight gap #our mistake) which made the door not close very smoothly. But lowering the gate to the ground fixed the issue. If you don't want to spend $60+ on a single gate, I highly recommend this gate!

This is a secure, easy to use product for less money than many others. These gates are all a little diffferent, and many are hard to open, but this one is clearly marked. I put it at the bottom of my stairs and it worked well with different widths of the banister and wall with baseboard.
