Great gate for the price!!

After shopping around for a baby gate, and returning one to Babies R Us, I was shocked at the price of this walk through gate. I read the reviews saying the quality didn't meet some expectations, and 1 review said it didn't fit a 36 inch doorway, which I needed. I ordered 2 of these gates anyway and thought I'd try my luck. The gate fit just fine in my 36 inch doorway. As you're shopping and reading descriptions, make sure you look for the measurement you need. We definitely needed the extension that came with this gate. Features I like: The option of only pressure mounting the gate, no drilling or tools needed. The walk through feature - the door can be left open when baby is sleeping. The safety lock (which takes more time when opening or closing# doesn't have to be used. THE PRICE The welding isn't perfect #one complaint I read#, but there are certainly no sharp edges as described. *When you install the gate, make sure you put the bottom of the gate on the ground. We had to adjust ours because there was a slight gap #our mistake) which made the door not close very smoothly. But lowering the gate to the ground fixed the issue. If you don't want to spend $60+ on a single gate, I highly recommend this gate!

NOPE. Nowhere NEAR the quality of my other Regalo

I have a Regalo and a Summer baby gate. We needed a few more. Since I preferred our second-hand Regalo, I ordered two of those. But after staying up far too late for someone with a 10-month-old to set this up (it didn't take long, but let's face it I need all the sleep I can get) it didn't even come CLOSE to the quality of our other Regalo. The design was similar, and that's what I liked: the way the gate latch lifts up and can be easily locked. I also like that the door does not have a spring, so when Baby is asleep, we don't have to fight bouncy gates all evening; we can just leave them open. Like a normal door. But this one... First of all, the one I set up tonight didn't come with the hex tool. Luckily, I have a bit for my screwdriver that fits, but seriously... Second and MOST OF ALL: to get it pressure mounted tight enough so that it doesn't wobble when shaken, the door WON'T OPEN. I have installed several baby gates by this point, and this is by far the worst. When I loosen the pressure screws so that the gate can actually be (barely) opened, the entire structure is horribly wobbly. I will be returning this gate, and the unopened one. I thought Regalo was my "gate brand" (the Summer latch left was too shallow for the Rambunctious Baby) but I guess it's back to the drawing board. Too bad. I really wanted this to work.

Looks alot nicer, is sturdier than the cheaper wooden gate we bought first. Wish I had known of this one sooner. Works great at bottom of steps and even some adults can't figure out the latch, very safe. So far 15 month old climber hasn't figured out how to get over it!

Works great for me

This is the third one of these gates I have purchased from Walmart.com. Each one has been less expensive that the others. One I used to black a door from dog and cats. The other two are used to block the dog from entry to rooms I want the cat's to have access, so I raised them about 8 inches off the floor and this works excellent. I have used other gates and these will do what I want, are excelent quality and at a very good price.

Perfect for Puppy

We recently adopted a puppy and needed a way to keep the puppy out of our daughter's bedroom. A standard pressure gate is too high for our 6 year old to climb over so we needed a gate with a door. This gate was easy to install. It only took me about 10 minutes, including reading the directions, which were written well. We did not need to use the extension for her bedroom doorway. Our 6 year old has no problem opening the door on the gate. It is very easy to use. At the time we installed the gate our puppy weighed about 8 pounds and she was already too big to squeeze between the bars so it worked out perfectly. This is a great gate for the price. I would definitely recommend it.

Safety made simple

Gate set up in minutes. It is very durable. It did not require any tools to set it up in a door way. I set it up for temporary use and it has not caused any damage to the door frame. My son isn't too fond of it when closed, but has figured out how to manuver over the bar that connects the gate at the bottom without tripping. The gate opening is a little narrow, but not too hard to get through.

Great gate! Fits my 36" doors PERFECTLY!

My doors are 36" and this gate fits perfectly (I did have to use the extension). It fits tightly and it's very sturdy. It keeps my 75 pound dog securely locked in my kitchen when I don't want him wandering around the house. He has leaned on it, bumped into it, and jumped on it and it has never fallen down. I also like the spring-loaded locking mechanism on it which I use all the time because the dog did figure out how to open the gate when it's not locked. To open the gate when it's locked, it's a two-hand operation. You have to pull the lock to one side with one hand, and lift the handle with your other hand at the same time. For those who are concerned about making the gate even more sturdy, it comes with four wall cups that can be screwed into the wall on all four corners to make it almost impossible to fall over, however, when you take the gate down, you'll be left with 4 holes on the inside of the doorway. I love this gate. I came to the website today to purchase another one to replace the old wooden gate on another doorway in my kitchen. The wooden gate is a real pain and is constantly falling down if you bump into it, but this Regalo gate is sturdy, great quality and looks great in the kitchen.

Awesome!!!

I have a 9 month old baby and bought this gate for the top of our stairs. It really is awesome! Now I don't have to worry about my baby cruising around anymore! It was super easy to assemble, I did it all by myself - no male help needed ;-)! If you need a sturdy baby gate and don't want to spend a whole lot of money on it - buy this one!

not fitting in 33 inch opening.

i bought it to saw it mentioned suitable for 29inch to 34inch opening. my stairs opening is 33 inch. so without extension it seems small to fit and with extension its not fitting at all. disappointed that what they mentioned didn't fulfill. i tried a lot to fit it in 33inch opening. but didnt get succeed. going to return it. Please make sure its actual size as per your door gate opening before purchase.

Very sturdy and dependable

I have to admit I am not the best at putting things together but this product was easy to install. It is very sturdy. My husband does not like putting holes in the wall for anything and this gate does a wonderful job without being screwed into the wall. My son is 19 months and had a meltdown yesterday when he could not get into the kitchen. He banged and pulled and was even hanging from the gate at one point and the gate stood its ground. Also the latch is very easy to operate. The latch itself is probably made to use with two hands but once you get the hang of it, you can open it with one hand very easily. Overall this gate is awesome and I am getting another now to go upstairs.
