Great 4K system

I bought this system because of the 4K and good reviews I leave on a dead end road and my wife needed some peace of mind knowing she could look outside without opening the door. The cameras have good quality and the distance is great even at night.I like the easy setup and installation it was simple. Only thing it only turns up or down and I need it to turn right on two cameras to get a better view and if it did it would be a five star I recommend this system very highly. 100% better than a Sony system my neighbor has.

Please note you can adjust the camera to turn left and right, by losing the gear at the base of the camera. High quality video surveillance!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband immediately unpacked the Defender 4K (8MP) Wired Security System With 8 Cameras as soon as it arrived. He said it was easy to setup and showed me how well it worked as soon as he was finished. We were both impressed by the quality of the video which can be viewed on a television or with the app on our cell phones. Unfortunately, these cameras all have to be mounted in place and wired directly to the DVR, but the system includes everything you need in order to do so. I believe this brand offers a wireless version as well, but I am unable to give an opinion on that. Overall, this is a high quality product to help monitor your home (or business). We are now able to check on our dogs while we’re away and feel confident that our house is protected.

Fantastic system

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The defender security system is impressive. My husband had these installed( lines ran and 4 cameras) hooked up in 2 hours. Picture quality is phenomenal and the DVR system is a breeze to use! Living out in the rural country with closet neighbor 2.5 acres away, we feel installing these was a no brainer. I’m amazed at how great these little cameras work. The only thing we had an issue with was figuring out where to places cameras. We have a large house 88 ft long and the cables wouldn’t reach where we wanted them. Overall the system is fantastic, very user friendly!! I would recommend these to anyone looking for a quality product that your typical homeowners could use. I’ll include pictures shortly. For some reason my computer won’t upload them currently.

The cameras really work great at night

I was very disappointed that the DVR did not include a remote control. With my physical disability, I very much need a remote. I had to keep using my older model HD1T8 DVR because it has a remote. I installed the eight 4K cameras and I am very pleased with the quality and ease of installation. The night vision is fantastic. I just hope in the future a 4K DVR will be available.

I feel safe!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There is a lot of activity in my neighborhood and I wanted to be able to see what is happening in and around my home. We installed the Defender 4K. Installation was made more difficult because I needed to connect it to my router, but it was because my router is on a shelf 10 feet off the floor. The cameras provide a sharp picture, and the DVR has terrific memory. The product is well worth the money in peace of mind.

Our HOA bought this system for the monitoring of the pool, parking lot and surrounding area....IT IS GREAT! Each board member can use their phone to see what the cameras are capturing...it met our needs perfectly. We no longer wonder what is going on at the pool...we just pull it up on our iPhone. It was simple to install and very easy to set up and use. We recommend it for anyone. BTW, I have one for my home as well.

Great system!

We purchased three units for our school facilities. All three boxes were missing the camera power adapters; but after contacting support we received them within a few days without any issues. I've installed 8 of the 16 cameras from one of the units so far; it's a slow process but well worth it. I have had to order some longer cable lengths as 60' isn't long enough for some areas. The daytime picture quality is really great on the 43" HDTV (I have yet to try it on a 4K TV). I was surprised at how good the picture quality was at night on both inside and outside cameras. I am able to access the cameras on the app only when I am at school on the same network; I need to do some research into what settings to enable to view it when at home or away from school. Otherwise, the app works great with both live and previously recorded video. I am looking forward to getting the rest of the cameras installed and figuring out the app settings for when I am away from school. I highly recommend this system!

So far, so good.

actually mine is a 4K 16 Channel DVR with 4TB HDD with no camera. The DVR was scheduled to arrive 17 Sep, but due to construction on our avenue, the UPS driver chose not to deliver. I finally received notice on 20 Sep as to where I could now pick up the package, and I drove to pick it up on 21 Sep. I had a Defender before but it died shortly after warranty, and I tried two other brands but was not happy with either, thus I am back to you folks. I appreciate the 2 year warranty, and would love to be able to extend the warranty even further if possible. I do want to thank Melissa C (Defender Cameras) <support@defendercameras.zendesk.com> for her great assistance. I have a small issue with the window that displays camera 2, but have not had time to play with it to ascertain if it is the camera and not the DVR. It it turns out to be the DVR, I will submit a report. Thanks to all the Defender team. Stay safe folks. Best Regards Jerry

Gives me peace of mind

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Defender 4K (8MP) Wired Security System with 4 cameras only took a couple of hours to hook up. It records 24/7, you’ll need to buy a USB flash drive. The pictures are clear on the t.v and the app, which is free on the google app store. You can also pick whether you want to record continuous or motion detection. The wires were easy to hide. I ran them along my baseboard and tacted the down. These cameras pick up all motion. They are very high quality. These really gives me peace of mind. I have a lot of packages delivered, and I do construction so there’s a ton of expensive tools in my garage. I highly recommend this product. I’ve tried other security systems and they don’t even compare.

Great System

System was bought about 2 months ago, installation was quick and easy. Picture quality is awesome and so much better than the system we bought 5 years ago. We will continue using Defender Systems for our security needs.
