super cool
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i just got this on saturday, it looked so hard to set up, but we are in the process of finishing it all up, there is a lot of pieces to put together, the instructions are pretty easy to understand, although i need a usb card to activate the system, in the process of doing that now.

Our HOA bought this system for the monitoring of the pool, parking lot and surrounding area....IT IS GREAT! Each board member can use their phone to see what the cameras are capturing...it met our needs perfectly. We no longer wonder what is going on at the pool...we just pull it up on our iPhone. It was simple to install and very easy to set up and use. We recommend it for anyone. BTW, I have one for my home as well.

I got the 4k 4 camera system for x mas and installed the cameras on the four corners of the house watching our house and vehicles. Took me about 3 hrs by myself to fish the wires through the attic and down the wall to the living room tv but the system is well worth the money and has great quality.

I Purchase #2 4K security Camera system...
I purchased a First set of the 4 k cameras and DVR system a week ago, it arrived and I was so blown away by the cameras and all the features of DVR and the app, that I immediately ordered a second set , I also recommended to my neighbor 3 doors down and she ordered a set the same next day, I installed mine and hers today and all’s I can say is wow over and over , I couldn’t be more pleased with how hers and mine turned out , I love how ya can see all in the app, even thought it’s two separate dvrs, I have one set hooked up with the most important cams showing on a monitor and the second set just to view in the app, the notifications are the best feature of this system , although the entire system is incredible, as I’ve said in my first review the cameras picture quality is awesome, and the field of view is way wider that my previous cameras, along with the dvr options and the apps options you can’t go wrong with DEFENDER SECURITY CAMERA SYSTEMS, they have always stood behind there products with me, that’s all I got to say in my honest strait forward review about my recent purchase ...

Very Clear Images, Easy Interface!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Defender 4K is a fully wired security system, which includes the cameras. You would think that would be difficult, but the cables included are VERY long, and allowed for placement throughout my home without them tripping people up. I did have to get guards for a couple of spots. The manual part of the setup was the major part of the process...the interface took only minutes to set up and connect, and the app was even faster. There's even a mouse included. You do need a flash drive to save your password information, but even that is just a few clicks. The clarity of the images is amazing. I was impressed with the ability to stay clear even with objects in motion. There are two recording options, continuous or motion detected. Continuous is, well, continuous, and works well. The motion detected setting was very well calibrated...it didn't just set off at every little motion, like my ceiling fan. You know it's recording because an icon appears on the image onscreen. The app is very simple, but gives you what you need: realtime access to the cameras when away. This will ease my mind considerably when I'm away, letting me check in on my family and pets. It works well even a fairly long distance away. This is a nice system for those who want a quality item that doesn't require a tech degree to set up. I recommend it highly.

Good Product
Bought this in Dec 2019 and finally got it installed. Once all the wires were ran in the attic and down the wall the rest was very easy to set up. I think the pictures the cameras catch are pretty darn good. I'm still going through the learning process on how to use all the features and use them properly but I would buy this again and I would recommend it to anyone else.

Excellent image quality
I bought the 4K system with 8 cameras. This was to replace an older Defender system I bought about 3 years ago. These cameras are far superior to the older ones. I put the cameras in the same spots all around my house and I am amazed at how much better and farther I can see both in daylight and darkness.

Very impressed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ended up setting this up in a store instead of my house. With the drop ceilings it made running the wires much easier than I originally thought I would be. Everything was very simple to set up with the wires being color coded and a very good length. The hardest part was figuring out where to put the cameras for the best coverage and where to then put the DVR. The app is also a really nice touch. Being able to see what is going on at any point where ever as long as you have an internet signal. Plus the picture quality is amazing. I’ve seen other systems with very poor quality video that you wouldn’t be able to tell who was on the screen. Not with this system. Thank you Defender!

camera system
I recently installed a 4k, 5 camera wired system. The video quality was the reason I made this purchase. So far the video is great (except for one camera and defender is working on that). I have two complaints about this system. Camera mounts and apple software. If you are an Apple user you might not a have issue, but to me the apple issue was almost a deal breaker. One The cameras do not have a ball mount, that allows the camera view angle to be changed sideways. It only has up and down angles. I ended up cutting wedges for the base of the camera, in order to get the camera angle I wanted. A bit of a pain, but in my case doable. Just added several hours to the install. A ball type mount would have made the install so much easier. Two (major issue) The Apple software sucks. If you do not have an apple or an android device, don't even try to get remote access to the cameras. Defender will not support a windows based computer system. I found out this the hard way. I had to change the whole installation location because of this issue. Instead of using an easily accessible and secure location, I had to route cables from my attic, through a wall to my computer desk and purchase a video switch with cables, to access the DVR software. The apple software must be downloaded off the on line store. I did so on my wifes two newer apple devises and my older iphone. I my case the software would not install on my iPad, because my iPad, is in apples words "is to too old" and did not have the current operating system. (that is a whole other problem) Installing a remote user is extremely difficult. I have tried several times to add my wifes' iPhone and New iPad. So far at least 8+ hours of labor and No luck on any attempt. Defender help, so far has been fast to respond, but I still can not add a user. I did some how, get my model 5 iPhone to access the system. The software on the phone, eats battery time for lunch. Not great if you can not charge your phone after 30 minutes of use. I like the system on a whole. I am learning the DVR software, even though it is not intuitive.

Then please click Manage sharing Settings Tap the plus to Add Recipient Enter the Mobile Phone Number or Email Address of the person you want to share with. Enter Remarks to leave the recipient details about the request. Never send the device password in the remarks section. Tap the Check mark icon to send. The recipient will receive a notification that there is a device to share. Tap Scan QR Code to scan the recipient’s device QR Code. The recipient will receive a notification that there is a device to share. The Recipient can find their QR Code by tapping More > Account Management > My QR Code. The code can be sent to the requester and scanned remotely. Fantastic video security system!

The set up seems overwhelming at first because it is wired but it really was not difficult at all to set up. The DVD player is slim and small and takes up no room at all wherever you put it. The picture quality of the cameras is fantastic! I am so impressed. I love that I can now monitor my home, inside and outside when I’m not there. It really puts my mind at ease. They give you plenty of wire to make it easy to connect your whole house. I would highly recommend this system!!
