Lack the sea sweetness expected from fresh, dry pack scallops. Ok in a pinch but looking elsewhere.

I have been getting scallops from Sam's club for years. Since the source changed to the Japanese scallops, it is like they are not scallops. They don't cook the same and the taste and mouth feel is not good either.

We bought these scallops over the weekend and didn't notice the switch from Alaska sourced to Japan sourced until we decided to cook some today. No big deal right? WRONG, we thought these would be comparable to the original product from Alaska but these were the worst scallops we've had in a long time. It's obvious they were pumped full of water to make them appear much larger when frozen, you lose at least half the weight once cooked. Don't be fooled, these are not worthy of consideration and we will not be buying them again unless Sam's brings back the Alaska sourced scallops that won't shrink to the size of a quarter when cooked.
