We are finding the new unit more functional with side by side freezer and refrigerator. Particularly like self-filling water pitcher which allows filling large water bottles quickly and dual ice maker.

It’s taking a while for the water to fill up the ice and pitcher to start with but that’s expected! There is a lot of space and a great use of shelf and bin design to make the most of it while having room for the pitcher and water dispenser. We are really looking forward to having two different types of ice to choose between. The auto open feature is really great and works exactly like we expected.

The filtered water pitcher inside the door makes it easier to fill coffee machine. I am in love with the 2 sizes ice maker. It gives you the option of small or large cubes whichever is you preference.

So, now my favorite feature is turned off and my dog has gained four pounds and her Veterinarian is not happy. We bought this refrigerator just 2 months ago at Best Buy. For the first couple of weeks, it worked great. Then the left-hand freezer door began popping open a fraction of an inch EVERY SINGLE TIME we closed the refrigerator door. It's hard to tell when this happens since the gap is small. BUT. Within hours, the freezer will have lost temperature, and everything will be covered in frost. Whatever is in the freezer will defrost. The Samsung technicians who came out said a couple of things. One was that the refrigerator was "within spec", meaning they would not/could not fix it. The tech also told us that this is such a common complaint for Samsung refrigerators that Samsung simply stopped trying to fix it. Think about that. NOBODY would buy this refrigerator if they were aware it would do this and Samsung would not fix it. The problem is pretty obvious. The mechanism that self-closes the freezer door is very weak, and the magnet that holds it in place once you push it close is also too weak. These should be fixable problems. But apparently not by Samsung.
