I’ve always loved Apple Jacks — it’s hands-down my favorite cereal. The flavor is spot on: sweet, a little fruity, and just nostalgic. But I do have to say, sometimes the pieces are a little too hard. After a few bites, it can actually cut up the roof of your mouth. I really wish they’d soften up the texture just a bit. It wouldn’t take away from the crunch, but it would definitely make the eating experience more comfortable. Still, I keep coming back to it — just with a little extra caution!

I haven’t had Apple Jacks forever, but just bought a box. What happened to those little cinnamon sprinkles that used to be on the cereal? See them on the picture, up there are absolutely none on the cereal. I think that is why the cereal doesn’t taste like I remember. So sad

My teenage son will just pour these dry in a cup and snack on them either watching TV or working on school work. This mega size box is a keeper. I would definitely continue buying this size if I could find it at more retailers. These are the perfect balance of sweet and crunchy.

I like Apple Jacks. I have since I was a kid. My suggestion would be to make them a little more healthy to eat. I think Kellogg's should consider making them at least partly from whole wheat. I don't think it would affect the taste that much and it would make them better to eat healthwise and probably increase sales since many people try to eat netter these days. Maybe you can make them half wheat and half corn?

Apple Jacks were once my favorite cereal. Used to love the substantial O's with their big red tangy chunks. But now, as many people here have commented, they are virtually flavorless, like eating lightly sweetened styrofoam. The same thing happened to Honeycomb, but happily they have returned to their original delicious style. BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL FORMULA FOR APPLE JACKS PLEASE! .

You can just smell the fresh apples and cinnamon, they have that nice crunch to them and the milk really brings out the good apple taste. We love these.

Last year I bought a box of Apple Jacks as a comfort food during Covid. I was sadly disappointed. I grew-up on this flavor of Kellogg's. It was a cereal that I 'loved to hate' as it always left my top of my mouth tore-up but it was because it was coated with those little red flavorful crystals and stayed crunchy all the way through the entire huge bowl of pleasureful goodness! However, I was excited to find in my local Department Store a box of Kellogg's Apple Jacks that said "Now With More Cinnamon Deliciousness"! I rushed home with it to find that the quality as well as the delicious taste HAS RETURNED! Thank you Kellogg's for listening to your fans and upping your game... YOU ROCK!!! I am rushing out to buy more boxes for my pantry just 'incase' this boxed-recipe is a limited edition. The expiration date on this box is JUN 18 2022.

I used to love Apple Jacks as a child. ( I am now 63). They were considered a big treat in my house. I’ve bought them occasionally since then, and they were as good as ever. Then I recently bought a box. They were very flavorless. And the texture was different. And there was no cinnamon “bite” to them like I remembered. My husband went and bought me a different box to see if they were any better from a different batch. They were just as disappointing. Which led me to search “Why do Apple Jacks taste different?” Which led me to this forum. I guess I’m not crazy… I will not be buying Apple Jacks again unless I find out that they improve the taste. The moral of this story? Please don’t fix what isn’t broken, Kelloggs.

I bought Apple Jacks for the first time in a year or so and my family (four of us; two adults and two adults) and I could immediately tell that something had changed about them. They seemed lighter in density, less sweet, less intensely flavored. Did Kellogg's change the recipe in some way? They're simply not as tasty as they used to be and didn't really taste that different from all those bland, "limited edition" cereals based on movies or whatever that appear briefly on the shelves. I can't see buying them again and I hope you restore their original recipe. If I'm wrong, and the cereal recipe hasn't been tampered with recently, please let me know. I was reminded of how Post Honeycomb seemed to have changed for the worse, we stopped buying them, and then a few years ago restored their "original flavor" and now all is right with the world.
