Set up went really well, very easy, and well laid out in the manual. I am planning on mainly using the unit with propain, being I will be using it for the camper and a backup for some devises in the house for power outages. With the non frequent use of the inverter, I thought the use of propain would be a great option, to decrease the change of guming up of the carb.

Bought this for camping and home use due to storms. Was up and running in 20 minutes using propane. Electric start worked great, did not need to charge battery out of the box. Note, you may see some old reviews commenting on problems filling oil and oil cap. Just use common sense and if you are in the least mechanically inclined there is no issue at all. Very easy.

Bought this after the last snowstorm knocked out our power for a week. The generator was easy to assemble and get running. Needed to pull the manual recoil start a few times to prime the system on first run, the electronic starter works great after that. It runs very quietly and could not even hear it running on the other side of the house. It is easy to move around with the handle and wheels. Filling the oil could be a little easier, the fill plug sits way back in the compartment and by the time you put the funnel in, there is no way to tell when it is full except to pour in a little oil at a time, remove the funnel, and shine a flashlight to see the oil level.

I bought this generator to run my RV when electric not available. This has plenty of power to run Air conditioning and everything else. It is duel feed both propane and gasoline. Has all the power you need. It will also run your refrigerator in the house should your power go out.

We purchased this unit to power our RV/Ice Fishing House combo with a 30 amp outlet. I was really excited to find a unit that ran on both gas / propane AND had a remote start for the cold mornings out on the ice! So far, I've put about 5 hours on the unit during the break-in procedure (so note -- there is a break in process -- read the directions!). Unit starts easily with electric starter, chain pull, or via remote and powers my RV/Ice House without issue (AC, microwave, TV, etc at same time). Switching from gas to propane is simple and can be done without shutting the unit down (if you already have propane connected). I didn't notice any change in performance switching across fuels. I've never owned a generator before, but the noise isn't overbearing and is barely audible when inside the RV. I docked 1 star for two annoyances. First, I only put in about a gallon of gas at a time as I wanted to run out the gas during break-in. Even though the unit comes with a digital fel gauge, it seemed to have a hard time registering that small - but sufficient - amount of full and showed me on "E" with no time remaining yet the unit kept running and running and running. Will see if issue persists if I actually fill it full. Second, changing the oil is a bit of a pain. First off, the unit comes empty but does include a bottle of basic SAE 30. I utilized the included oil for break-in and with a plan to switch over to synthetic 5w-30 for better cold temp performance (which is fine/recommended per the manual). The directions state that the entire bottle of the included oil should be used on the initial fill, but I found that I slightly overfilled the well trying to use up the whole bottle. There is a small plastic plug in the bottom of the unit you can use to drain back out some of the oil, but this is really just for spills and overflow and is still hard to access, leaving oil over some of the interior. After running for the 5 hours, I switched the oil -- and this is the real annoyance -- there is no separate oil drain. You have to try to hold the included funnel OVER the oil well and then tip it back out. Even being careful, it's awkward to hold the funnel over the top while balancing a 100 lb generator on it's sides -- despite my best efforts, more oil managed to spill, again leaving more oil in the interior compartment. There are numerous "nooks and crannies" in there, so it's virtually impossible to wipe up all the oil. So through the first 5 hours, performance seems great and exactly what I wanted and dual fuel flexibility is great as I'd rather carry an extra propane tank than have have gas tank slushing around. Only complaint is oil changing process. Would buy again!

purchased this as a home backup. I have only had the generator for an hour or so and so far I am impressed. The only negative so far is adding the oil for the initial setup. Do not add the entire bottle of oil! I was under the assumption it was like anything you buy in that they provide an adequate amount of oil...guess that's what I get for assuming

I bought this last fall but didn’t use it until recently. It is everything I hoped for. Easy to follow directions, and it started up immediately. I used it on propane only so far, but even though it has less power than with gas it still was adequate for my needs!

I picked up my iGen5000DFc one day ago. I considered many alternate inverter generators and settled on this one due to the 3 year warranty. I completed the included startup instructions and then ran the generator on gas for about 90 minutes with no problem. I plan to run it on LP today. I am very pleased with my decision to purchase this iGen.

I received the generator as an early Christmas present from my husband. It was bought to replace a noisy gas powered generator for our remote cabin. The dual fuel capabilities as well as the quietness were my requirements. On another note, the generator itself is heavy, but the telescoping handle makes it easy to roll around. AS I have just received the generator, I have not put it through any rigorous use.

I purchased this generator due to the terrible hurricanes last year in Florida. I was not going to be without a generator this year. I reviewed many generators, and this one seemed that it would fit our needs the best. The unit had high reviews, and we were able to purchase online and pick up at Home Improvement store within a few days of ordering. Reason for the 4 stars, is that it would not start with a gasoline hook up, it started and ran with the propane, but for some reason would not start with gasoline, plus the remote Fob was missing from the box. I contacted Westinghouse and they sent me an email with maintenance instructions regarding cleaning the carburetor. This was not really helpful, it was brand new, it should just start right out of the box without me having to clean a brand-new carburetor. I was finally able to get the generator running on gasoline, it appears, I may not have put enough gas in to begin with, I did not have to clean the carburetor, and it would have been helpful if service would have suggested other options for resolution. None the less, it is now working. I have not used it yet for an extended period of time, only to make sure it starts. Hurricane season just started, and I will update my review after we are able to use it for longer than just starting it. I would be just fine not using it, if it means no hurricanes this year.
