Works so well

Bought just at the time of the great Oregon ice storm of 2021. We hadn't got it hooked into the house before the ice hit and knocked out power for 3 days. We ran cords all over the place. It had no problem running a couple ceramic heaters, lights, microwave, and refrigerator. Its very quiet which I think the neighbors appreciate. Also mizerly on gas usage. We could run it from 5pm at night to 7:30 the next day on a single tank of gas. That was about 14 hours. Really appreciated the long runtime, not having to refuel it at night in the dark. My only complaint was the battery died from the cold after the ice storm was over. I had to buy a replacement battery for it which wasn't cheap.

Duel Fuel powerful

I ordered this in august. My intention was to power my grand design imagine 2600RB.(travel trailer) days before our Labor Day camping trip we lost power at our home. I fired up the igen4500DF and was able to easily run my refrigerator, saving all our food. Since, I've had my camper connected and with the A/C unit running, the refrigerator and lights it's only drawing 50% of the units capability. I love that it runs on propane. I'm 50 in ok shape and can lift the unit into the back of my truck. I couldn't be happier, great engineering Westinghouse !

OVERFILLED OIL

While I haven't even had a chance to start my new generator, I did experience its operation at Elk camp this year. A friend owns one and it ran super quiet and flawlessly all week on a 20 gal. propane tank. However, my new one arrived today and I read the operator's manual front and back. I followed the directions on filling it with oil. Unfortunately, there was too much oil in the container that was provided, and as I removed the funnel, oil started pouring into the engine compartment and onto the garage floor. I would say that nearly a full cup of oil came out. What a mess to clean up. Now if some of you are thinking that my garage floor is not level, that's not the case. I also got some nasty cuts on both hands due to the sharp edges inside the various compartments - so I advise wearing thin gloves when possible.

Quiet, well made.

Everything works as described. Plenty of power and quiet. Only downside is that the battery switch needs to be turned off and on so it doesn't drain the battery when not running. This totally defeats the use of the remote start if you have to turn the switch on the unit. Was hoping when camping I could remotely turn off at night then turn on in the morning. Just note, the entire bottle of oil is a little to much so it leaks out of the fill, no big deal just be aware to have a rag on hand. Overall seems like a great generator

Quiet!

I am so happy with how quiet this generator is compared to others I have used. The 4 stroke engine and cover really damp down the noise. I have it on my deck just outside the living room, and with the doors an windows closed it makes a minimal impact. Also love running it on propane.

Worked Well for 3 Days

Bought this in July 2021 and didn't need to use it until now (February 2023). It worked great for the first three days. It was quiet and efficient and handled the light loads I used it for with ease. On the 4th day, the overall sound output of the generator increased significantly and the 20 Amp outlets were unable to handle any load (shows 120 to 124 volts with no load but drops to 55-60) volts with even light loads applied (less than 500 watts).

The Perfect Generator

I did quite a bit of research and compared many models before deciding on this one. The remote start is just one of the many features that makes this unit worth owning. The dual fuel capability is another one. The fact that the propane connection hose, with regulator, and a battery charger is included is a plus. It even comes with a tool kit. The control panel is loaded with options. The digital display shows the approximate gas tank level and remaining run time along with the voltage and wattage outputs. It also keeps track of lifetime usage hours. All of the user ports and switches are equipped with protective covers. Switching from gasoline to propane is just a simple flip of a switch on the control panel once the propane tank is connected. In addition to the two heavy duty recessed grab bars on the top of the unit, there is a built in extendable handle that collapses completely out of the way when not in use. The 5 1/2 inch wheels are just right for moving across rugged terrain. Getting at the battery and oil dip stick is done by pushing the tab on the top side of the removable access panels. This housing of this compact transportable generator is sleek and smooth. Nothing sticks out beyond the cover and it completely encloses the engine and inverter with sound dampening material making this probably the quietest 4500 watt generator on the market.

Perfect for my needs!

I bought the 4500DF very recently. I live in a rural, mountainous area, and frequent outages to my cabin required to finally get a backup generator. Dual fuel, inverter, and so quiet! I placed it on my deck by a window and barely sounds like an in wall AC unit! Plenty of power for my fridge and router so I can keep connected to the net. I also loved that the unit came with everything to get'r up and running in minutes, big up for a gen novice like me. Now I have peace of mind I'll have power during these unprecedented outages. Thumbs up, Westinghouse!

Disappointed in iGen4500DF !!

I purchased the iGen4500DF (Dual Fuel) about 7 months ago and finally opened it up. First let me say I have purchased past Westinghouse items- generator and power washer. Both had no problems and still operate perfect. Now about this item, I followed all the instructions in the manual and any info on the wed site. Bottom line this generator runs on propane but won't run on gasoline. High disappointed and now its time for service. Hoping Westinghouse makes good on the warranty.

Tons of options, but not sure on the quality yet!

Seems really nice, it is louder than I expected. According to the DB rating on the website it should not be any louder than Honda 2200 inverter. But it is definitely louder. The choke was manually on so it ran rich till I figured that out. After turning the manual choke off it would not start on its own. The electric choke was apparently unhooked out of the control board. (Note picture) I called customer service on a Sunday morning and they answered the phone so I'm really impressed with that! Told me what the issue more than likely was and they were correct. Now it starts great. The air filter wasn't seated properly so it was going to suck dirt. Luckily the manual choke was on so while I was addressing that issue I had the side cover off I decided to look at the air filter to see how quality it looked. Overall it seems really nice. I haven't really used it yet so time will tell! Price was reasonable compared to the Honda, but the quality isn't there. More options though, if it came down to it I'd still buy the Westinghouse again. Time will tell!
