Very happy

I researched this generator and compared it with many others. This by far is the best for the money. Lots of features and light weight. It was very simple to set up right out of the box. Add oil (included), connect the battery, add fuel and it fired right up. Powers my RV air conditioner and microwave at the same time. Sound level is fairly quiet. I would recommend it.

Dual fuel on generator.

Replacing the onboard generator in our older Class C RV. Propane tank on camper is a fuel we want to utilize when we can. Having power always available is a medical necessity for my wife and I. We hope to be enjoying our RV for a long time because of this generator. Thanks

Performed exactly as advertised

This generator came with the right amount of oil, almost. That is, it comes with a 0.6 qt container of break-in oil. However, don't pour in the last ounce unless you like cleaning up oil spills. Once you put all the oil in and unscrew the funnel, that last ounce will spill out into the bottom of the generator. #@%$! Using propane as the fuel source, it started in about TWO seconds. Also, it's much quieter than my 3,500 watt open frame generator. I've only gotten 3 of the 5 break-in hours on it so far but it runs my camper AC with no problem. Since I'm still within the 5 hours break-in time I'm still waiting to see how it'll handle more load. I've alternately run both my AC units. And judging from the power monitor, I just may be able to (with everything else off) run the second AC unit. I know it'll supply enough power for more than both my AC units but it's the 1 second 3x starting surge I'm concerned about. Only experimentation will tell. Some times I will want the camper to cool down quickly with both AC units before turning one off. Then with only one AC running I'm sure it will have enough power for the coffee pot or the blow dryer or whatever. By what this unit has demonstrated so far, I think this is the perfect size for the boondocking I intend to do. If I had a way of following up on my remarks after I've had more experience with this unit, I would. In fact, I'm hoping to follow up in a week or so on Amazon. Jerry Retired Electrical Instructor

Arrived with all parts and was up and running with

Comes with tools and oil for setup. It was up and running within 30 minutes of taking it out of the box. Very quiet running generator. Has a handle for pulling it and 2 handle on top to lift it. Is a little awkward and heavy putting in the bed of truck by yourself.

So pleased with the Westinghouse 5000 generator

Last month we lost power for 5 days due to a hurricane. We did not own a generator and lost food in both our refrigerator and our full freezer in the garage. Afterwards, I researched generators and with the excellent reviews and the features we desired, the Westinghouse was what we decided upon. We are so thankful to have it sitting in our garage now!

Very Quiet Generator

Bought this generator to replace an older loud open frame generator. Wow, this definitely fits the bill!! Powers our travel trailer 14k BTU A/C, refrigerator, lights, water heater, etc. with power to spare. It’s so quiet it can barely be heard inside the camper.

great features

just purchased and put battery and oil in generator. i'm only going to use propane unless there is an extreme emergency. I hooked up propane tank and pressed the button and it started right up. ran it for a couple of hours varring the load with 1000wt /1500 heat gun . It ran great, pretty quiet ,no gasoline exhaust odors, economy mode slowed the engine down on lower power consumption. instructions says the serial number is on the model information label but it is not there. the serial number is only on the box if you haven't already thrown it away. so far so good. GOING FROM PRODUCT REGISTRATION TO REVIEW IS VERY CONFUSING

I finally got it!!!

I have been waiting months for this generator to get here. We have friends that we camp with that have this generator and it is wonderful. It is quiet, starts every time and runs on propane. The propane is so much less trouble, and runs cleaner. We go deer hunting and the remote start is a blessing first thing in the morning when it’s raining and cold. I just can’t say enough good things about this camper ready generator. We just love it.

Overall, a great product

Just received the unit and installed it. Everything is great, except filling in the motor oil is messy. The funnel neck is not long enough and it is difficult to pull in oil without spilling it. Also, can't tell how much oil is just enough to fill the tank but not to overflow it. I would suggest to provide the exact amount of oil so that the new user knows how much it is needed.

Dual fuel is great

iGen4500DF purchased June 2021. It's great being able to run on propane, I prefer carrying an extra propane tank rather than gasoline. As a side bonus, the exhaust smell on propane is much less unpleasant than when running on gasoline. Switching between gas and propane is seamless. As expected based on the power rating, no problems starting/running 13.5k BTU a/c. I also own a Yamaha EF3000iSEB. The Westinghouse is about 50lbs lighter and is much easier to move with the pull-out handle. Both generators show the same noise spectrum within a couple of dB (simple phone app), but my ears say the Yamaha has a 'smoother' sound while the Westinghouse has more of an engine 'puttering' sound. Although I prefer the Yamaha noise, the propane capability and lighter weight of the Westinghouse is worth it to me. HOWEVER, I did have the widespread problem where the automatic choke connector was not snapped into the control board. It's just bizzare how they can't get this under control after it's been going on for so long. Annoying but not hard to correct.
