This is a great generator, even if Westinghouse likes to call it "inverter' in its good included manual. All other previous comments I agree with, So 4 Stars why ? Well here is the INFO needed. The 30 amp output is NOT A 3 PRONG TWIST LOCK, as nearly all 'generators' come with, but is a TT 30r outlet, 30 amp travel trailer. Yeah it's in the manual. However all past generators, for me, have had a 3 prong twist lock (L5 30p) outlet. SO you need and adaptor TT 30r to L5 30p twist lock. Now all your cords will plug right in for power. This is also really meant to be set out all alone with a long card. As I have yet to figure how to add a tail pipe to the exhaust system from my motorhome's extended bumper mounting. It is nearly 200 pounds lighter then the 5000watt Onan it replaces. : ) And may I ask Who the Heel has the employee try to hide the Serial number to where you need lay down or have helper tip the thing near on end ? But yes I certainly recommend this Inverter : )

I found out today that if you leave the gas valve on that the gas will leak out of the regulator. I purchased this generator for the remote start feature. If you have to go to the tank which is right next to the generator to turn on the gas why do you need a remote start/stop. For this reason I would not recommend this generator.

I had been researching a generator for our new RV and believe we made the right choice on the Westinghouse IGEN4500DF. Once I took it out of the box and read the instructions I finished setting it up. Only downfall I had from instructions was for me to fill entire bottle of oil into the engine. I didn't use it all but still it was leaking out. Cleaned up the excess and closed the drain plug. Hooked up the Propane and put enough gas in to start. Okay, now I ready to start. It took a couple of tries and review of instructions but it started up. Then I switched over to Propane and you can here it convert. Let it run for a little bit and switched back to gas seamlessly. Remote worked like a charm. I can't wait to take it out camping and enjoy my new Westinghouse I GEN4500DF.

Generator starts easily and runs fairly quiet. I bought this with electric/remote start because my wife is unable to pull start equipment. I expected something easy for her to use if I'm not home. This thing weighs over 100 pounds.. and the pull handle is on the bottom, when it should be on the top. Pulling it around is a joke.. also there should be locking castor wheels on the front instead of rubber pads. I had to place it in a flat moving dolly to move it away from the house to run it. The generatorbrund great.. but is bulky, heavy, and difficult to move.

Hello. I just bought the IGEN4500DF generator. The only thing that does not satisfy me is the remote control. She doesn't always succeed in stopping the generator .... Sometimes I have to press several times before I can stop it. Up to 10 shots. I spoke to Westinghouse about it ... awaiting their response.

Interesting that they offer you a generator cover if you leave a review when you register the product. When you haven't had time to even try it, they want a review. Seems a little bizarre to me. So first impressions… I like that the oil bottle holds just the right amount to fill it up. It was a bit messy, but there is a nice threaded funnel that really helps. I got oil all over my hands, but not all over the generator. I started it on propane, but haven't put any gas in it. It took a few pulls for first start. The starter doesn't work, so I will find out fast how customer service is to deal with. It is quiet. I hooked a space heater up an it works. It seems like the marketing videos show them hooking propane up to a quick connect, but you need a wrench. The wrench included doesn't fit the either of the propane regulator or hose fittings, so I am not sure what that wrench is for yet. I think it is weird that they don't ship the high altitude kit with it. They want you to buy that separately on the website. I was able to find a propane kit but not a carb kit. They don't even sell one. It is crazy that they even sell generators in high altitude areas that are not ready to run in that area. Time to call customer service and see if I can get some help with the starter.

I bought this to replace a standard generator for our camp. My wife loves the push button/remote and mostly to quiet of this unit. I haven't run is thru any heavy duty yet still being broken in. already thinking about a second to slave and have 2 for a house backup

I bought the igen4500DF 20 days ago and am impressed with the quality and features. I have only run it with gas so far, but I'm confident this unit will meet our needs. The left side panel was cracked upon delivery. I was able to contact support easily on a Sunday. The parts department obviously wasn't open an but a case was opened. I am sure this will be resolved quickly.

We just purchased this generator to provide power for our camping trailer at rustic campsites. We wanted one with enough capacity to allow us to use the air conditioner. At no load the noise level is great though the noise increases as load is added, still running a shop vac as a load the noise from the shop vac was much louder than the generator. It is still much quieter, smaller and lighter than the generator I use at home to run power tools outside. The wheels and carry handle are a big help though its still heavy to lift into the bed of my truck. Out of the box added oil and gasoline. Initially wouldn't start after 2 tries with remote and 1 with push button (6 tries total) and 2 with pull cord, flooded it. Let it set for about 30 minutes and it started right up with remote. After sitting for a week tried starting it twice with the remote (4 tries total) but it wouldn't start probably flooded again. After 30 minutes started right up. Looking forward to using it at the campsite!

I was impressed on the power and how quite it was. love the remote start.
