nice feature set, clean and quiet

runs well so far. have gone above and beyond on servicing. had an issue recently with it not starting and the battery going dead. playing with that currently. spark plug seemed to be the culprit of the no start issue. when a load is applied, it sometimes sounds like it is hitting the rev limiter momentarily, I assume it is supposed to. its display isnt the most accurate in the world, but its features are still a mice addition.

Westinghouse iGen5000DF

We bought the IGen500DF for RV camping. This is a heavy duty, super quite generator. We look at a lot of generators before purchasing and this one was the quietest for the price point. It comes with a 3 year warranty which is an added bonus. I would recommend this generator.

So quiet and efficient and effective

We at resisted for years getting a generator but with the recent devastation here in Western NC we decided it was time. If we had know we could have gotten an inverter generator this nice at this price point we would have pulled the trigger long ago. It's crazy how quiet the generator is and just how many of our appliances and lamps we can run. Great buy. We look forward to using this with our camper as well.

Operation and Use

This was a recent purchase and I could not be more pleased. Very well packaged when picked up at store, what little setup that was required was simple and straight forward, instruction manual was concise and accurate and all anticipated accessories were included. I've started it using both gas and propane with the fob, push button and pull cord and both fuels and all starting devices work great. I've tested the dba level with just a free app, and the sound level is right at the dba advertised. In summary, what was advertised in this inverter generator was what I needed, and, what I received so I am very well pleased.

Lots of research lead me to this model

So far so good. Lots of bang for the buck. Westinghouse igen4500df inverter generator. Dual fuel, remote start, 4500 Watts. A little heavier than what I was anticipating, however not too heavy. Looking forward to using this generator as we take our RV cross country.

Impressive generator!

I can compare this generator to my existing Honda as well as my past Generac and Coleman generators. I am very impressed with all aspects - the build quality, the instructions, the included start-up kit, and the operation. I put in oil and fuel, and it started immediately with very little running noise. The handle design to move it around is also well done. Now planning to buy a second one.

First impressions

I picked up my iGen5000DFc one day ago. I considered many alternate inverter generators and settled on this one due to the 3 year warranty. I completed the included startup instructions and then ran the generator on gas for about 90 minutes with no problem. I plan to run it on LP today. I am very pleased with my decision to purchase this iGen.

Good generator, just an inch from greatness

Bought this during the big Puget Sound outage of November. It only ran for a day before power came back, but I'm glad to have bought it. I love that it can use propane, so I don't have to deal with gas storage and carburetor cleanup over time, and it's very compact and relatively quiet. It is quite heavy though, but the wheels and carry handle help. However, for 5 starts it would have to be perfect, and this has some missed opportunities. Adding oil in the beginning was an absolute pain, the oil cap is buried at the bottom, and the funnel provided is minuscule. A cheaper 2000watt generator from a diff brand had a much longer and easier funnel. How hard would be to put the oil cap and dipstick somewhere at the top? And I found the remote start/stop pretty pointless - what I really need, is a remote control to turn the eco mode on/off, for when I need to start some big honkin' motor, like a portable AC/heatpump or dehumidifier. These will overload the generator in eco mode. And you do want to have it in eco mode most of the times, it's thristy :) Otherwise highly recommended. I was eyeing this for a long time, wish I had bought it during some previous shorter outages, instead of half way through a 5 days one. If you are like me, and still on the fence whether to buy one or not, you now know what to do...

Smooth, quiet, light, easy to start, plenty power

I bought this after we got badly smacked by Hurricane Helene, following extensive research. I felt it was the best generator for the money, with the main things besides build quality and ratings being: enough power to run 2 fridges plus mobile phones, laptops, lamps and a coffee maker etc.; smooth power (inverter, so DC) for electronics; Eco mode for low gas consumption; crazy-quiet (just 52 dB), lightweight (59 lb); duel fuel capability (gas and propane), and all needed tools and accessories included. The manual was clear and detailed and after adding oil and gas I followed the instructions to run it and break it in, and it started right up after just a few yanks of the pull chord to prime the carburetor. It ran smoothly and quietly for hours on about 1/2 gallon of gas and when I turned on Eco mode it automatically adjusted to the different loads I plugged in (fridge, batter charger for lawnmower, radio, etc..

Great Little Generator

I bought this inverter generator in July and have tested it with propane. It is pretty heavy but starter it without issue. I ran flawlessly and am in process of installing a connection to the house. I am confident this unit will work as expected when the need occurs.
