Great features

I bought this prior to a cross country trip in our travel trailer, “just in case.” I ended up needing it twice while on the trip. The unit was quiet and easy to run. The remote start was also great so I didn't have to get up in the middle of the night to get it going!

Very Reliable so far!

I bought this about a month ago and have only tested it a few times, but so far it is great! Much easier to use than my old pull start. It checked off everything I wanted from a new generator. Dual Fuel, push button start, remote start, inverter, digital load gauge. Because I don't use a generator often, I can use the propane connection and not have to worry about gasoline clogging the carbs up and not being able to start it when I need it.

Very Compact with all the bells and whistels

I reviewed several options to enhance my home back up system. After considering price, features, and availability I am glad I chose this product. It is super compact and it was shipped quickly and and easy to install. This is a great addition to my home back up system. I appreciate the fact that you can use propane or regular gas. With all the gas prices going up as they are it is nice to have another option.

Very Nice Unit

I'm new to generators, but felt compelled to buy one after Pacific Gas and Electric developed a policy of cutting power to prevent wildfires. This is for emergency use only, or for when the power is cut for an extended time. I chose this unit because it has the power I need, and it is dual fuel. I don't have have any gasoline tools, and don't want to store gasoline to run a generator infrequently. So, I was very attracted to the propane option on this unit. Also, this is an inverter generator, supposed to be safer for modern electronics... so everything in the house. I've tested this unit on everything in the house, from refrigerator to running our furnace. It does everything except power our 220 Volt appliances. One item that does bother me, and again I'm new to this: the 30 Amp plug is a TT-30r, not the more common LS-30, seen on most of the other generators I looked at. I guess this generator is designed more for use on travel trailers than as household backup. Finding a cord with TT-30p on one end, and household-plug on the other seems impossible; I had to by an adapter. I wish that Westinghouse supplied this adapter, or an optional replacement plug for this generator.

iGen4500DF

Bought the 4500DF based on needs and reviews for my RV. Much quieter than my previous gen, so I don't need to put it in a sound retardant box. comparable to the db ratings of the Hondas. So far no complaints, works great. Wife likes the remote start, she doesn't need to leave RV in the AM when I'm not there. opted for the dual fuel version to have a second source of fuel, on the chance we run low on gasoline. The 3year warranty is a nice perk, and fairly priced. If your looking to compare, the Cummins/Onan p4500i is similar.

Compact and mighty quiet!

We have finally decided after several years of losing power during the many hurricanes we get in Central Florida to purchase a generator to save our food in the fridge, charge and use small electronics, kitchen appliances and have some fans to help keep us cooler. We haven't had a hurricane or loss of power to really test how well this inverter generator will perform. Really like the option to use proprane or ethanol-free gasoline to power this generator. It was quickly delivered after ordering, did a trial start-up with both fuel options, tried the remote, the pull and the push start, all worked great! It is MUCH more quiet than all of our neighbors standard generators. The wheels and handle make it easy and convenient to move the generator where we need it, it is heavy! We hope to have it for many years and never have to use but if we need it, we are looking forward to using this much quieter, portable option!

All in One Pkg

I just purchased this for use when we go dry camping for both power and recharging our battery bank. It had the dual fuel, electric start and remote start that I was looking for and appears to be the quietest on the market. The true test will come this fall. It came well packaged.

IGEN4500DF

Just got this generator & still breaking it in. like how quiet it is, the large fuel tank & how powerful it seems to be. just putting light lads on it yet when breaking in, but it takes quite a bit to get it up to 1/4 load. Should work well for us as we travel from one dirt track race to the next. Anxious to see how economical it is on fuel. Plan on primarily running it on gas & using the LP as a backup source.

Good all around

Wireless starting range is not very good. Will not work from in the RV. You must leave the run switch on which has a light that will drain the battery. Not to sure how long this can be left on before the unit will not start. Good for running the A/C unit and charging batteries while dry camping.

Outperforms all other generators under 3 grand

Easy to set up, working great so far. The multi function display is super convenient. Powers our travel trailer air conditioner without breaking a sweat. We had a 2200 W generator before, and we have a soft-start device on the A/C, so it would usually start, but it would not run well on really hot days. The iGen4500DFc has so much power and the dual-fuel option is fantastic to have. Electric & remote start work great.
