4500df

Just picked up a 4500df and unboxed it. Generator looks great and was easy to unpack and get setup. Great that oil, filler for the oil, propane hose and regulator, battery charger and tools were included with the unit. No damage or rust on the gas tank top as some have said. Charging up the battery and will start the break-in process of the unit later today. I will go back to Westinghouse and give a in-depth review after the initial break-in and hook up to our camper.

Best Generator I have had!

I was looking for a simple quiet generator that used propane. I settled on the Westinghouse because of the great experience I had with another Westinghouse generator. This one exceeds that. Easy to set up. Hooked up the propane tank, pushed the button and it started. And it is super quiet.

Great features & runs quiet!

We just purchased this IGEN4500 DF and wanted something that would run our 15K BTU travel trailer AC unit when camping. IGEN4500 is portable, and light enough for my husband and I to unload it from our truck and for one person to roll it to where its needed. This IG has it all, remote start and stop, super quiet even under a power load, powerful and plenty of outlets, also has great fuel capacity. We have only used propane for fuel so I can't comment on gas efficiency at this time. Started on the first start with no issues. I love the electric start and remote! No more pulling a rope to start our old generator or refueling at 3AM. It feels like we hit the Lotto!

Small, Quiet, Powerful -- Nice Compact Design

After following the setup instructions, it fired up on the first try. It handled various loads including shop vac (high startup current), heat gun, portable air conditioner. As they all do, it gets noisier with increasing load but still managed a very respectable 73dB 20ft away with a 3 KW load. Volt and Watt meters were accurate. Voltage stability under load was very good. Everything worked as it should. The included oil filler funnel is very nice.

Westinghouse Inverter

I am so happy w my new Westinghouse Inverter Generator. From the packaging and easy to read manual it has been a pleasure to use. Reasonably quiet and all the features I need. The dual fuel gives me ability to use either gas or propane. I was impressed to see how many service areas are also close by should I need them in the future

Just what I needed.

This was exactly what I was looking for to have to power our travel trailer while boondocking. Was very easy to set up and started on the first push of the start button. No problems with the automatic choke. We don't use our generators extensively so anticipate this unit lasting us a long time. Also forgot to mention, pretty quiet even when not on eco mode. Very pleased so far.

Westinghouse iGen4500DF invertor generator

I bought about a month ago and got it all set up to power a portable a/c unit, refrigerator, and freezer. I bought a 30amp convertor to switch that plug to 3 regular plugs. i bought 4 propane tanks and plan to run on propane only. It was only using about 25% power when running the 3 items above. i have a small problem with oil leaking but it may be out of the filler cap. I still have to figure that out. It seems to be extremely quiet. Thanks.

Quiet & Easy to Use

I bought this generator to use for off-grid camping & for emergency use during a power outage. It is very quiet so it should keep any nearby neighbors happy if you are running it near others. It delivers as promised and easily powers everything in my camper without issue (30A hookup). Fuel use seems to be pretty good as well. It powered my camper at moderate usage (AC was not running) for about 15 hours on eco mode and had some fuel left. Changing oil seems reasonably painless with a drain plug on the bottom and a screw in funnel/tube to fill new oil. About as accessible as you can get on these enclosed generators. Haven't tried running it on propane yet, but it is nice to have that option available also.

Liking it so far

I haven't started it yet but unboxing it has been fine. It was shipped with good packaging to protect it. Only one cosmetic blemish on the front cover but it's a generator and I'm sure it will get plenty more bumps and bruises. Looking forward to using it on our RV soon.

Loving this generator!! One small issue

Needed a good powerful and fuel efficient generator with a large fuel tank for our travel trailer. It runs everything in our trailer easily. I would purchase this again without hesitation. Only thing I found out the hard way is leaving the battery switch on overnight so I could remote start in the morning. I had a fully charged battery that night and it wouldn't start the next morning. Tried to pull start it since the battery was dead and it would absolutely not start. After much frustration I found out the electric start and pull start depend on the battery which doesn't make much sense with the pull being your backup?? I charged the battery once we got home and it fired up first pull with the pull start. Now I leave the switch off when not using and haven't had any issues.
