Great value! Excellent features for the price

I purchased an iGen4500df last month and after unboxing, realized the starter had broken apart from engine. Returned item, reordered and received new unit in two days. Used the following weekend and worked without a hiccup. After unboxing, connected battery, filled with the provided oil, gassed it up and it started first push of the starter button. Although initial unit had problems, I would definitely recommend this product due to the features you get in this price range.

Great Features

Doing the review to get the cover. Only run the generator a short time. Started easy on gasoline and propane. If you put in the whole bottle of oil as instructed about 4 ounces will run out. The carburetor bowl drain screw is not as shown on the instructions. It is difficult to get to.

Great Inverter Generator for my 5th Wheel

I bought this generator in hopes that I could run a single generator to run all the equipment on my 5th Wheel RV. I ordered this and it came in perfect condition. I pulled it out and went through the setup by adding fuel, oil, and a few drops of Lukas Heavy Duty Oil on top of the piston head, hooked up the battery, and with one push of the starter button, it started right up! After going through a proper break-in of the generator I hooked it up to my 5th Wheel RV. I ran my AC, Microwave, TV, Refrigerator, lights, and fans, and this generator did not even blink. I am super happy with my purchase. To top it off it is quiet. I have a honda eu 2000i and my Westinghouse iGen4500 is similar in noise. That is impressive. Heading out to some dispersed dry camping and am thrilled to have this go with me.

Excellent Purchase

We purchased this unit for both limited home and RV use. It exceeded my expectations! Being able to run both gasoline and propane makes this unit so versatile. It is so easy to set up and run that it can be ready to supply power in less than 30 minutes. Everything works perfectly. Can wait to put it in to use while RV-ing! Thanks, Westinghouse for another great product!!!

Very nice quality and feature rich inverter!

So far my experience with this generator has been mostly great. There are only three things that I've noticed so far. 1. When I first started the generator for the first while it kept shutting off after a minute or two. No idea what caused it and I have not had a problem since even when running it for 10-12 hours to keep my camper cool. 2. The protection system is a little funky sometimes. I get that it is important to have the overload protection in place so this isn't exactly a fault of westinghouse but I feel like it engages a little to often. If my AC cycles on and off to fast the inverter trips. This is a little problematic because I was hoping to trust this system with my dogs in the camper however I don't feel safe doing so. 3. When powering my 14000 BTU portable AC, it's hard to get the AC started. It'll start up just fine and all but I believe the initial draw messes with the compressor when it tries to draw. This doesn't happen with the camper AC. The portable AC will run but the compressor doesn't kick on so it just blows out hot air. Usually just a few minutes of messing around with it I'll eventually be able to get the AC to kick on. For #2 I can say for now that I have not had my camper AC cycle on and off quick enough to cause this issue. This has only happened when I was playing with the AC and turned it off to test its starting power, turned back off, then turned it back on. This quick cycle trips the breaker. But since it does this I am very afraid that if a really hot day happens that it might cycle to fast and shut off. I just can't trust the system enough to keep my dogs alive in very hot weather. Idk if it'll ever happen but just no lol. Apparently the auto choke has some issues on some of these models. Idk if I just got a good model or that the issue was resolved. Mine did NOT experience this auto choke issue and even if they do I heard Westinghouse has a fix for it plus its apparently an easy fix to do at home.

Excellent !!

Bought this generator for my camper. Dual fuel is certainly a positive. Remote works great for starting while inside camper especially at night. Handle is convenient moving generator to different places. Very conservative on gas and propain. We will highly recomend this generator to family and friends. Searced for the perfect generator for us and we have found it.

Warranty and Generator Both Work

It took a while, but Westinghouse did send a replacement generator for the reconditioned unit that had an overload problem in the inverter. Thank you! I have tested the new unit, and it is easy to start and works great. Having to have the Run switch on to start and run the generator and having it stay on after turning off with the remote is a problem, but I can live with it. JRM

Everything you need, including a remote starter!

We have been through two fires, 2017 and 2019 in northern California where PGE disconnected the electricity. I have been looking for a dual fuel generator with a remote starter but could not find one. I was very close to purchasing a 3500 watt dual fuel generator from a different company but it did not have a remote starter. Then I stumbled on this one, 1000 watts more, dual fuel and with a remote starter! Love it!!

Quiet an Very well made

We have been waiting to upgrade our FullTime Generator for our cabin. This generator is what we've been waiting for! Dual Fuel, Inverter, remote start and adequate to power all household things! And, it's quieter than outlr smaller Honda! This is a great generator!

Great product

I recently bought this and it works great. I enjoy the remote start and that it powers everything in my rib with no issues. The only problem I found is that in the manual it states to pour the whole quart of oil in which is definitely not the case. I used about 3/4 of it before it was topped off and end up making a mess and it was a pain to clean up.
